  • Boyle and Johnson Central have met 3 previous times.  In 2009 Boyle won at home 49 - 7.  In the return game in 2010, Boyle went to JC and won 36 - 29 (I remember JJ Jude and how tough a runner he was)

  • I absolutely want my Rebels to bring home number 10 !!  I mean I really want them to repeat.  But given the circumstances surrounding JC this season if Boyle is to lose I have to be honest at least it

So it is a constant:

Who Ya With? Rebels! Who Ya With? Rebels! with no other words and then Yeah!

Usually repeated 3 or 4 times before the Yeah!

To me Johnson Central wins the game.

I'll take Johnson Central 28-21.  To me, the lineman going to UK Bingham is the most dominate player in 4A.  He (and his other lineman) have been really impressive in the playoffs.

I think Boyle’s line matches up very well with JC.  JC will get some yards, but they will have a hard time containing the Boyle offense.  In my totally biased opinion Boyle wins 28 - 14.

My brain says Boyle, but my heart says Johnson Central!

Controlling the line of scrimmage is probably the single most essential ingredient for winning football games. Johnson Central does this as well as anyone. What they've done to Corbin and Franklin County the last two weeks is pretty incredible. Boyle doesn't necessarily have to win the battle in the trenches, but they must at least hold their own. If they can do that, the combo of Gillis and Lanter can make enough plays to get the Rebels title #10. But Boyle can't get swallowed up in the box by the mass of humanity coming at them. If they do, they'll fall like the Hounds and Flyers before them.

Look for Jackson Smith to be a big factor. Whether he's forcing JC to drive the length of the field or splitting the uprights for a game winner, he's an invaluable weapon in a game of this magnitude. I don't know what kind of leg JC's kicker has, but Smith gives Boyle County a second option they can comfortably rely on to put points on the board. There's less pressure to go for it on 4th and 4 from the 20 in a tie game when you've got a leg on the team that's going to be kicking on Kroger Field for years to come.

Jackson Smith with the go ahead field goal late in the 4th to send the rebels back home to Danville with the title.

31-28 Rebs!
