Boyle won the last meeting 55-0 back on November 22nd. 2019.  Interesting game that made national news on one play.   ? 

 

 

Boyle has faced two very good passing QB's the last two weeks. Neither did well. The Rebel pass rush has been very, very good.  Not a good situation for the tall Scott receivers. Lex Cath had -3 yards passing against the 1st team Boyle defense at half time last week.

Spot on! Academically, Scott has the best instruction of any of the three high schools in the Kenton County School District, ask any administrator. Athletically, nearly every program has had incredible success and is a regional contender every year in Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys and Girls Track & Field, Boys and Girls Swim, Volleyball, Baseball, and now Football is joining the party winning 2 of the last 3 district titles. The next step is to compete Friday at Boyle County. Boyle is #1 for a reason and is a heavy favorite but it does not take away the success  of this season and continued build of the program at Scott. Go Eagles. 

While what you say is accurate about being consistent regional contenders, that would not be true if they were still in the 9th.  I believe the move to the 10th has been a huge plus and driver in the improvement of Scott athletics. If they were still in the 9th, the limited ability to win the region would lead to top talent going elsewhere even more regularly.  There have definitely been Scott teams that could win the 9th in certain sports/seasons, but I do not believe we would be calling them a consistent regional contender if they were still  in the 9th.

Completely agree with this 100%. Scott, Campbell Co and Brossart have all experienced athletic success in the 10th region that they might not of had if they were still in the 9th region. The rest of the state might not have been able to see the Jake Ohmers and Reid Jollys put on great performances at Rupp Arena.

You don't get to choose your region. They aren't in the 9th, so you can't hold that against them when discussing their success. It's only fair to judge them for the region they are in....not the one they used to be in.

As far as this game goes, Scott knows what they are up against and what the probable outcome is going to be. Boyle is at another level. Scott's football program has gone from 2- 3 wins a year to now multiple playoff wins a year. As said in another post, the next step in building up a program is to compete against the Boyle Co's of the world. Whether it's a whole game, a half or a quarter, you need something to build on. Scott won't be the only team Boyle put a running clock on this year. 

Was looking at the 4A KHSAA Stat leaders and Scott High School leads the state in team passing defense only giving up 12 yards per game and only 150 for the season. 

Team Rushing defense they are 2nd. in the state only giving up 25 yards per contest.

State wide leader in both of those categories for all state classes.  Several defensive players listed also. Last year the QB lead the state in passing yards at nearly 300 a game.
 

This year Scott seems more balanced on offense by looking at stats, but it does help when you have 3 WR/TE at 6’5-6’7 all with college offers also.

His older brother was a QB there and left to go to Mercer.  His last year at AC he threw 3 picks against Mercer in one game and had 8 for the season.  He had 18 picks in his 3 years at AC.   In two seasons at Boyle he has thrown a total of 3 picks.  Did he get that much better?  Is it playing in a great system at Boyle with great players surrounding him? How many good QB's are out there throughout the state that play in a bad system with bad surrounding talent?  How many QB's with average stats could you throw in a system like Boyle and put up great numbers?  I don't know the answer just throwing out stats.  For him from a personal standpoint and from team success looks like he made a good decision.

Khsaa goes by the stats put in from each team and over half of the games Scott has played do not have opposing team stats. I would say based on that information these stat lines are misleading. 

I was curious after reading about their defense and how they are only giving up 12 yards per game rushing along with only 25 passing. So I looked at their stat page they only listed opponents stats twice in all 12 games. Their actual totals are 204.5 rushing yards per game given up and 67.3 passing yards per game given up.
