So is Murray mediocre? Is this like if  Greenwood finally beat BG? Can I get some perspective on the WKY landscape?

Well i just heard the sirens go off here in Mayfield.  The sky is falling ?  Well it does kinda feel that way as I have waited almost a year to get revenge on Murray. 

To the game, 1:30ish to go in the game and Mayfield is running the clock out down around the Murray 35 when mayfield fumbbles and the ball is returned to the Mayfield 5.  That was the first time I had got concerned the entire night.  Mayfield had a ton of chances to put the game on ice and guess what? they didn't!!!!!!!  A rematch does not worry much but neither did this game going in, I expected a running clock tonight.  I expect a trip to Ft Mitchell for the Cards but I am not going, too far and I don't want to be a witness to Beechwood finally beating Mayfield.

I was going to Mayfield if Beechwood traveled there - I wanted to be there to see Beechwood beat Mayfield.

Definitely cant claim that Murray snuck up on Mayfield in this one! I think a lot of folks in red came out to see a butt whoopin and we’re shocked. Last year was a surprise and this year was a shock. Murray seems to be down on numbers and quite honestly talent, especially compared to last year. But as I said when they hired Bowling, the flexbone is a great system that designed to beat teams better than you and designed for playoff football. Murray didn’t throw one pass tonight. They hit 2 passing td’s on Caldwell last week and I think could’ve tonight if they tried at some point. You may be seeing any and all intimidation with Murray and Mayfield going away. We may be looking a real rivalry brewing once Bowling fully establishes his system and culture. I would imagine the Murray boys have a lot more belief after tonight.

Murray converted quite a few 4th and short scenarios throughout the game. Mayfield didn’t have an answer for the fullback dive most of the second half.  Cards also missed two deep passes (potential touchdowns) that they have been hitting in most games.  Give Murray credit for beating mayfield how no One thought they could, grind it out game without many big plays.  Just kept Mayfield D off balance.  And Murray holding Mayfield to 21 was unthinkable before tonight.  Gonna be fun seeing how this region shakes out come playoff time.

P.S.  I’m glad we can be done with the whole RPI and will Beechwood stay at 2 or will Mayfield pass them convo.  Look, didn’t even matter.

Didn't LCA put a running clock on this Murray team last year? 

I recall earlier in the year, in another post and subject, I said that in order for Mayfield  to continue to win, some personnel changes should be made.

The response or reply I received from my fellow Cardinals basically defended certain positions, when I never said a position I said then and I say now, there are STILL CHANGES that need to be made. I am not going to embarrass kids and name positions or call names.

The RPI still puts Mayfield in 1st place in the District playoffs at this point next weeks game could change it?

Yes and it goes to RPI which gives Mayfield the #1 by a large enough margin they will finish #1.  Murray and Caldwell are close with Murray barely ahead at #2 going into the last week

There is a good  chance that we could see a rematch that will again be at Mayfield.  If I am Murray, they likely would rather it be at Mayfield given 2 straight wins at Mayfield.  In a rematch Mayfield will be a heavy favorite but Murray did prove it possible.  I don't see a need for Mayfield to change anything in a rematch except eliminate the untimely mistakes that are uncharacteristic for Mayfield.
