March 14, 20215 yr Figured some Louisville fans would have commented that with Mitch Barnhart as selection committee chair the Cards being first out was his doing.
March 14, 20215 yr Louisville not being in wouldn’t bother me except for the fact that Syracuse inexplicably got in.

Bound to have 1 team get the COVID and not be able to go even though NCAA says a team can play as long as they have 5 players. The team doesn’t even have to have any coaches present just 5 healthy bodies. A team would have to get Covid within the next few days for them to get in. While it is possible, I don’t think we will see it happen. At least not to where a whole roster is basically not able to go.

If it was vice versa, you know that would have been the first thing my fellow crazy UK fan base would have said lol.

Let a computer decide the 68 teams. #1 plays #68, #2 plays #67, #3 plays #66 and so on.... Let the top 4 teams choose , in order, where they want to play their opening games and let the chips fall where they may...

March 15, 20215 yr Joe Lunardi had a good year this year his final bracket he picked 67 of the 68 teams picked correctly his only miss was he had Louisville in over Wichita State. Pretty good this year.
March 15, 20215 yr As long as human beings are playing the games then humans should be placing them for competition, when robots start playing then the computers can pair them up.
March 15, 20215 yr UL tailed off badly toward the end of the season and did not have a very good season IMO. However, I did not see any bracketology prediction of the six or so I looked at that that did have them in. Is the NCAA mad at UL?

Not saying that you’re right or wrong, but if selected the way you suggest, and no automatic qualifiers are awarded in from winning their conference tourney, then the conference tourney would be rather IMO pointless, because who it seems to serve the most is that conference team who hasn’t had the greatest of seasons, and is able to sneak on in to the big dance by merit of winning the conference tournament.

It’s not pointless. A conference championship still means a lot, IMO. I don’t think a mediocre (or worse) team should get in the dance just because they get hot for 3-4 games and win the conference tourney.

Then never complain about why or why not the committee put a team in or kept them out. Humans have bias and flawed logic, math doesn’t.
