In the replies to this tweet the account said that Wolfe and Scroggins were not the choice. This same account hinted at the Eddie James situation yesterday before it went public.

Okay, so if we're going to take that rumor mill info as fact (which I'm not necessarily saying we should do)...the current list of head coaches in Louisville Metro are:

Atherton - Anthony White
Ballard - Adrian Morton
Butler - Gary Wheeler
Central - Marvin Ditzler
Christian Academy Louisville - Hunter Cantwell
DeSales - Harold Davis
Doss - Michael Crowe
DuPont Manual - Scott Carmony
Eastern - Justin Blanford
Fairdale - Louis Dover
Fern Creek - Josh Abell
Iroquois - Anthony Wales
Jeffersontown - Mike Shatzer
Kentucky Country Day - Matt Jones
Louisville Holy Cross - Eric Dick
Male - Chris Wolfe
Moore - Billy Martin
Pleasure Ridge Park - Tommy Williams
Saint Xavier - Kevin Wallace
Seneca - Keith Eckloff
Shawnee - Jalen Harrington
Southern - Michael Gossett
Trinity - OPEN (Bob Beatty - Retired)
Valley - Rufus Sanders
Waggener - Tye Lawson
Western - OPEN (DeMarcus Smith)

Aside from Ty Scroggins, and maybe an assistant or two from within the Trinity program, I can't think of any assistant coaches, offhand, who would be an apparent consideration for Trinity.

Could they have cherry-picked Kevin Wallace from St. X? I highly doubt that.

The source is saying it's not Scroggins or Wolfe. Keith Eckloff at Seneca is a former Wolfe assistant who just finished his second year at Seneca, but he currently only has 2 career head coaching wins. I'm not sure about the coaching status of former Ballard head coach Mike Jackson. Josh Abell has done really well at Fern Creek, but I don't believe he has any wins over St. X or Male, and I think he only has three combined wins over Manual and Butler out of 12 games total. Gary Wheeler has done some solid work at Butler, and probably most notably ended Male's playoff run in 2017.

I'm going to go ahead and say that my gut says that that tweet is just rumor mill.

Jay Cobb was Somerset head coach for 11 years and coached at couple other schools before Somerset. Very knowledgeable guy plus being under Beatty learned more.

I hear nothing but good things about Coach Cobb.
