Did Coach Weinrich (Highlands) win a championship against Owensboro? Also believe he was acting head coach for one as Coach Mueller was in New York due to a death in his wife's family. I believe they won that one too. Weinrich also played on a State Championship team with Chris Wolfe. Wonder how many others did that as a HC?

Side note, I never knew he was the Head Coach at Knott County Central from 89-91.That was apparently his first head Coaching gig before taking over the reigns at Lexington Catholic.

If I'm not mistaken, when Sphire left Knott County Central he was replaced by Jay Cobb, who went on to coach at Somerset and is now an assistant at Trinity.

Impressive career! 

The 3 I want and I’m bias but Mantey, Hilton , Haywood.... all smash mouth, and Preston is on there if he wins at John Hardin too. Stylistically they play a style that is hard to replicate in practice, and play against on a week to prepare for. 

I'll go with Beatty, Haywood, and Eviston in that order.

- Beatty, IMHO, is the GOAT when you look at his Championships, his Finals Record, and the fact he has transcended Trinity into the only KY school that is a National Brand.

- Haywood is the GOAT at doing the most with the least. He has taken a tiny coal mining community that literally has one stop light and put them on the map. All-Time wins leader, a top wins leader Nationally, 13 finals appearances, 7 Titles, multiple D-1 players from an area you would not expect it. Never afraid to schedule up or play out of state. All from a guy who drives a pickup with probably 300K miles on it and doesn't want your six figure paycheck.

- Eviston to me is the future. He has won titles at two programs already and returned two programs that were once proud but had dipped back to an extremely high level. He is going to win a lot of games and a lot of hardware and finish among the best there ever was in KY if he sticks around here.

Gonna be a few names added to this list for sure. 7 coaches with their first finals appearance, 2 looking for their first W with at lease one past appearance, and 3 chasing another win. Good luck to all!

Any list without Beatty is void, IMO, and this list looks pretty good to me.

Also won a college championship as a player at Campbellsville. 

Not sure about other HCs,  but he & Wolfe were on high school & college teams together.
