It's never bothered me all that much, he's loud and crazy and does it to everyone. Just a little more annoying when Trinity is there.

Well he said “6A State Champs” about a billion times in reference to Male during that first game.

He’s a gigantic homer, which is fine I suppose. It’s just unprofessional. He also clearly has a complex when it comes to the Rocks. He’s obnoxious when Trinity plays at Male.

He’s same way when St.X plays them. He brought up 2018 Championship many times when we played them. Won’t have to hear about championship next year. Maybe he will say runner up.

Was really impressed this season with the Trinity offensive line.

 

A pair of 1,000-yard rushers is a tough thing to do. Congrats!

Hopefully the Male PA announcer gets a nice dose of humility after this one.

I think that this may have been one of Bob Beatty's best coached games. The kids came in very focused with specific jobs to do. The penalties were a problem in the first half, but that is what happens when you are playing superior athletes. They solved that problem in the second half and it was over. They had a game plan that took advantage of Trinity's strength and took away what Male did best. Male did not have an answer. There was a lot of talk before the game about which team had the coaching advantage. The answer to that one was self evident.

I think that this may have been one of Bob Beatty's best coached games. The kids came in very focused with specific jobs to do. The penalties were a problem in the first half, but that is what happens when you are playing superior athletes. They solved that problem in the second half and it was over. They had a game plan that took advantage of Trinity's strength and took away what Male did best. Male did not have an answer. There was a lot of talk before the game about which team had the coaching advantage. The answer to that one was self evident.

 

Beatty set this one up in the first matchup. He knew what he was doing.

I think it is funny when Wolfe made the comments in his interviews, "we had opportunities", "we didn't connect", "you would have thought we would have showed up." He did not mention anything about the back to back timeouts he had to burn because of coaching. You could tell he did not have control things from the beginning. Especially when you could clearly see him and the asst. coach arguing on the sideline.

At some point in the media you expect him to take responsibility for the loss as the head coach. He never did.

But he's probably not wrong in his assessment either, when you play a defense like Trinity, who likes to play man coverage and be physical in the secondary your offense has to convert on the "big play" opportunities or else the game can get away from you in a hurry. I agree but, part of coaching is planning ahead. Their passing game was based on throwing jump balls and letting their big receivers go get them. Their running game was based on overpowering people. Trinity took those things away. They didn't have anything else to go to. Coach Beatty breaks the season into thirds. The first third is to play a tough schedule that can expose your weaknesses. The second third is to find solutions for the weaknesses. The third is to refine, get better and bring home the hardware. Playing against teams that you can beat easily just doesn't teach you much.

The Trinity coaching staff and Coach Beatty did a fantastic job. But you are WRONG calling Male athletes superior. Trinity’s O line was dominating. Ryan Miller, Armon Tucker, Bradley West are fantastic athletes. Kaelan Racculia is 6’ 3” TE Male had to double team in routes, when he wasn’t catching TD’s this season he was blowing D ends off the line ... and he is the punter ... and a highly ranked, future college baseball player who signed to play baseball in FL next year. You don’t think they are athletes? I didn’t see a Male TE with that athleticism? Should we talk about the Trinity D ... they have a few athletes over there too!!!

The thing that Beatty has done that is most impressive to me is to adapt to the team that he has that particular year when refining his offense. Two years ago, when they had Rondale Moore, a very accurate but weak-armed QB, and a below average offensive line, Trinity was mostly in spread, no-huddle on offense that featured a quick passing game and jet sweeps. This year, they were under center A LOT with multiple TE’s and sometimes a fullback. In the championship game, they ran the ball 50 times and threw it 15. That is not the Bob Beatty offense of just 2 years ago or especially when he first came to Trinity. In high school football, the best programs tweak their schemes to fit the strengths of that team while maintaining the core of their system. They also have answers to situational football. Trinity does this well. Even in years where they primarily feature the spread, they have a short yardage and goalline offense. In years when they feature the power running game, they have the capacity to spread it out. That is good coaching.
