Is Boyle County the best team, not just in 4A but the entire state?

I would probably have to say yes.

I see saying Cov. Cath. without a doubt but how can you say Scott Co. especially offensively and not mention Frederick Douglass. The Douglass defense totally dominated Scott Co. they had just over 200 yards total offense and about 60 of those was on a trick play. Just curious.

This was my thinking. Covington Catholic? Sure. Scott County? Absolutely not.

I think any of the top four in Cal Prep deserve to be there and could be interchanged. I would have FD at # 5 instead of North Hardin. It is still an honor to be in the top 5 in the state. It means more to have this discussion after the playoffs.

1st- No

2nd- No

3rd- I could definitely see it. They share two common opponents with CovCath, if you put that LaSalle upset out of your mind:

Boyle 30 Highlands 0

CovCath 13 Highlands 0

Boyle 64 LexCath 28

CovCath 39 LexCath 38

Boyle is +66

CovCath is +14

Nice stats. Hard to argue with this.

Have not read the thread, but Boyle must have the best QB/WR combo in the state. Maybe one of best in state history!

Yes. Saw them play once but that was enough.

Male and Trinity then the rest of the state with Boyle probably a distant third.

How did I miss this thread?

I agree with those who say Boyle County is the third best team in the state behind Male and Trinity.

So after tonight’s outcomes, I’m starting to feel like this might be a possibility. Not saying Boyle is the best but it’s arguable. Male suddenly seems not as far out of reach as originally thought.

Johnson Central is pretty good too.

I was about to say the same thing.

It is definitely a legit conversation now.

That they are. If all plays out like it should, it will be a fun game to watch at Kroger Field between Boyle and JC.

Male was extremely un-polished tonight, and they must have had 10 penalties tonight. The Bulldogs' coaching was superior to Manual's and their adjustments at the half were able to stop Manaul's run and establish their own. I think Manual played the more physically dominant game tonight, truth be told. Male is beatable.

If all plays out that way it may be the crown jewel of Finals weekend.
