Really good football game with 2 really good teams. Boyle was the better team but 17 4th quarter points makes the score look deceiving.

 

Reese Smith’s 2 endzone picks were absolutely fantastic.

Yes sir.

Boyle has more guys tonight go both ways than the other games this year. When I say more I mean that they haven’t played that much both ways this year. But when your playing a good team like Highlands you play your best.

Man nobody is talking about Boyle’s QB tonight. Kid is accurate and game smart. Great deep ball too.

#1 for Highlands is a player. Kid was all over the place, and he played his heart out. Highlands offense needs a lot of work. Wilson Kelly was a man out there, he couldn't be blocked.

 

I thought Wilson Kelly was the main reason for all the bad snaps the Highlands center had. Hard to move the chains when the QB picks the ball off the ground like he did. I think Highlands had 10 plays for a loss tonight.

I caught the 4th Quarter and Boyle County was having their way. Highlands offense is way too predictable and they have no line. I keep hearing "if we had Buten", but when 6 defensive guys are waiting on the RB, I think that is a moot point. Not even 80 yards of offense.

Those three players are three of the four best on the team though right? And they tired out slower than Highlands strictly 1 way team.

 

I can't speak for how other teams practice but Jacob Tamme has said that his practices at Boyle where harder than any college or pro practices he has ever done. I know Boyle has always played players 2 ways but they rotate in and out a lot and get plenty of rest. Boyle under Chuck Smith has always been in shape.

Hate to say it but this was just a decent performance from Reed. He didn’t turn it over which was huge for this game but he missed a lot of throws we are used to seeing him make on a routine basis. I guess we’ve gotten pretty spoiled having him at QB for the last 3 years.

That actually is an improvement from the Ryle game with 10 or 11 sacks and 17 total plays for loss.

I thought HHS defense was outstanding. Their db's played tight all night and made Boyle's wr's really really work hard. Lanter played a great game and even had a couple balls dropped. Colwick played a great game with one hand. HHS committed a good number to the run and made Boyle work through the air. Very few teams will be able to play the run that hard and leave their DB's to play man that tight and not pay for it. Kudos to the HHS defense. Kudos also to the Rebels D, just really really tough tonight. Boyle's Oline needs to improve.

Heard on the news that Boyle County's Reed Lanter became the School's all time leader in passing yards. Congrats Reed!

I think HHS defense will still make them a hard out come playoff time. But the O has to find some life and identity.
