Can anyone contain Boyle County in 4A?

Featured Replies

The Rebels have wreaked havoc over their opponents so far. 265-42 points earned and points gave up. The Rebels will be at home the next two games hosting Highlands and Lexington Catholic before hitting the road to Anderson County on October 18th, returning home October 25th to host Bourbon County on senior night before closing out the regular season at Madison Southern on November 1st.

Can anyone in 4A contain Boyle County not just in the regular season but also the post season?

A Boyle County/Johnson Central showdown would be worth the drive either way.

Being a Boyle County fan Johnson Central is the team that worries me the most, with that being said I think Boyle is the favorite to win the 4A state title.

At some point you wonder if they are the best team in the state, any class, period.

Let's just assume that Boyle takes a step back the second half of the season. Maybe they commit uncharacteristic turnovers, just aren't as sharp and have some injuries here and there that make a difference.

Now that we've taken then down a notch, I can say that even in that scenario, they are still the favorite to win 4A.

That's no slight to the other contenders in the class, Boyle is just that good.

C'mon Man!

If they stay healthy they win 4A.

I’ve seen this group of seniors since they were freshman and one of them since little league days. I’m not an expert, but if you’ve not seen this group play, you owe it to yourself to catch a game or two. They have weapons all over the field and are really fun to watch. Some top notch talent on both sides of the ball. If there is a better team in 4A, I would really like to see them, as well. My prediction is that, if they can stay healthy, they will run away with the 4A title.

No I don't. I think Trinity and Male are way above anyone in the state. The race under them is a large group of teams that could stake a claim to being #3 or so. :thumb:

This is me. The way this team and the talent has grown together is insane. No one predicted this depth that they currently have. They are steamrolling teams and still haven’t fully unleashed Reese Smith and Landen Bartleson like they could if they wanted to. They do have to unleash them and that is because of the talent that makes up this whole team.

And they still have room for improvement.

I wouldn’t put them ahead of Trinity or Male but I would put them at #3 and feel confident about it.

Probably win 4A. Fall in line behind Male, Trinity and St X. Don’t know much about 5A.

Male and Trinity for sure. St. X is not for certain.

Doesn't Boyle County have 3 or 4 D1 guys? That is one reason---by no means the only one---why they are so good.

Reese Smith, Landon Bartelson, Ezarious Roller and Wilson Kelly all have D1 offers. Wouldn't be surprised if Reed Lanter is not next to get a D1 offer. And in a few years Freshman Tommy Zeismer will definitely have D1 offers.
