For me it would be the 2011 July 4th fireworks show at the National Mall in Washington DC. If I remember correctly attendance was estimated at over half a million people.

The Derby.

Mine was a sold out Bengals game (football) and Game 7 of the 1972 World Series (baseball). Never been to a Derby or an Indy 500. Been to Riverfest several times and a sales conference in the old Georgia Dome with 80,000+ (which was actually a Guinness world record at that time).

Largest football game - 1993 Peach Bowl at the old Georgia Dome. -- 63,416

 

Largest baseball game - 1983 baseball game at Milwaukee County Stadium between the Brewers and White Sox when they hated each other -- 54,716. It was the fourth largest crowd to see a game at the old County Stadium that season. I was introduced to tailgating that night. Thousands of people in the parking lot with grills, gloves, baseballs, and footballs. Their tradition was to share food with everyone in their row. We traded brats for pork chops and burgers. We traded homemade potato salad for succotash and elk. I don't think people do that kind of thing today. Each row in the parking lot was their own block party.

Penn State at Ohio State in 2015. 108,000+ at that one. Had field passes, it was sick.

The world was also introduced to Saquon Barkley at that game.

I was at the Ohio State/ Michigan game in 2016 in the shoe. I believe at the time it set the attendance record for the stadium.

Single site - Bristol Motor Speedway. Mutiple times 165,000 in the stadium.

 

Event - CMA Fest. Around 500,000 people.

Numerous Nascar races including the first Brickyard 400.

USF at Notre Dame, USF at Florida State, USF at Florida, and USF at Wisconsin. All were in excess of 80K and the Bulls won 2 of those.

Yep. He balled out. I got pretty close to Zeke on the sideline, that was cool. And the fact that it was the first ever blackout made the environment even better.

I suppose Thunder, but that is not as if people are crammed into one space. That is spread over the landscape of a few square miles.

 

By the "crammed into one space" metric, Talladega would be the largest for me, with Derby just behind.

I've been to the Daytona 500 a bunch of times and I guess that's the largest event for me. Been a long time since I've been there though....last time was 2001 when Earnhardt was killed on the last lap. My father-in-law just didn't want to go back after that.
