June 18, 20197 yr The one and only! There has never been a US President who was an only child. That being said, you got my vote! :thumb:
June 18, 20197 yr 21 of the first 23 NASA Astronauts were first-born children. "...fly me to the moon..." If I remember correctly from my college psych class, Adler's theorem on birth order said that the oldest was often most likely to be an "over-achiever" due to an un-fulfillable desire to surpass their parents' expectations. Second born was most likely to be athletic, due to a desire to compete with and/or surpass their older sibling's achievements. Third born was most likely to be creative and/or a risk-taker as a result of growing up with parents whose attention is shared among three children, along with their desire to stand out to their parents in ways - positive or negative - that differ from their two older siblings. (I just had to reach wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in the brain and knock a couple of inches of dust off of that one.) Edited June 18, 20197 yr by Colonels_Wear_Blue
June 19, 20197 yr I’m the only child of my parents, with two “half-brothers” and between 2 and 5 step-siblings depending on my dad’s marital status. Got a nephew and niece who are like younger siblings too. You could call it non-traditional or dysfunctional and you’d be right.
