Ah welcome to the light brother. The NCAA Tournament isn’t everything and it’s extremely hard to judge a coach based on a tournament that is at times very random.

Great recruiter. Great at devoloping talent for the NBA (which helps fuel the recruiting). Average in-game coach. Has any coach really been great in all those phases? Very few.

I wouldn't trade Coach Cal for anyone. Does he miss some opportunities in coaching during game situations, yea I'd say so.

 

This is the first time in a while that Cal didn't have a rim protector or 3 athletic big guys in the paint. He had 2 and then some bench guys, but he rode the two until the wheels fell off. It is what it is, UK needed either a savvy PG that could make baskets or a true rim protector, they didn't have either.
