Best Active Coach in State of Kentucky

Billy Hicks is the all time wins leader and has 2 state titles but also has 5 runner ups including the last 3. Is he the best coach in the state or is it someone else now like Mike Szabo for Trinity or Scott Ruthasz for Covington Catholic who both also have 2 state titles.

I’d say Billy Hicks is the best and then Ruthsatz number 2. Also Coach Renner at Ballard should be considered.

Hicks wasn’t runner up in three straight, two straight he lost quarterfinals in 2017.

 

Aric Russell and Tim Sullivan are at the top of my list.

If the criteria is who gets the most out of what they have, I have to give Coach Russell from Campbell County a lot of props. Always has an intelligent team that beats a lot of teams with more natural talent and size,
