Talk about a tale of 2 halves...

 

USF jumped out to a 24-1 lead and led 38-13 at the half.

 

Then, Jeremiah Martin scored all of his 41 points in the second half as the Tigers put up 65 points and nearly pulled out the win.

41 points in a half, especially collegiately, is insane.

Still an L for UM. Memphis is really tough at home and in the 2nd half of games on the road. They have a perchance for digging huge holes early in road games. That's why they've only won one. Only home loss was to Tennessee, and they were close.

 

 

All-in-all, I think the AAC is a better conference than they get credit for.

Just for grins, I checked out the splits.

 

Jeremiah Martin left the game first half with 10:45 to go, though he picked up his 2nd foul about a minute and a half earlier. At that point he was 0-3 from the field, 0-1 from three. In the second, he went 13-17 from the field, 7-8 from three, and 8-12 from the free throw line.

 

Memphis shot 14.3% from the field in the 1st half, 18.2% from beyond the arc, 60% from the line, and had 13 turnovers. The second half, they went 51.2% from the field, 66.7% from three and 68.4% from the line. They still had 7 more turnovers.
