Chris Henry is VERY talented. That's the only nice thing I have to say about him at this point in time...

Heard an interesting stat on Chris Henry. Out of the Bengals 3 pass receptions that have gone for more than 60 yards, Chris Henry has 2 of them. He's an NFL type wide reciever, but I think his toughness needs to be questioned.

He is soft.... and flippin fast.

I may be the only Charger fan on this board, but I think everybody should keep in mind that the Bengals were facing the top offense in football today. San Diego got way down early, and came out of halftime in shotgun with absolutely nothing to lose. They have the top tailback in pro football, and he's almost as good a wide receiver as he is a running back. Bengals looked like they were using a safety on him instead of traditional linebacker. Also, Chargers have the top tight end in football and again, he can't be covered with a linebacker, its got to be a safety. Add either McCardell, Parker (or today, Floyd), and you have to use another safety under the corner. Plus, the Chargers have the top blocking fullback in the NFL, which gives them a pretty nice 6 man protection package. This was just a very good offense today against a depleted defense that did not man up well anyway. Frankly, I thought Justin Smith gave a fine effort today.

 

The Bengals exposed the Chargers defensively. Johnson broke a Bengals record today for yardage in a game. He had our secondary yelling at each other with the number of blown coverages. San Diego has the top pass rush in the league (number of QB sacks) and only gave up 2 today. 1 of those was costly. And Rudi averaged over 6 yards per carry, and at times was running through gaping holes. If the game had not been such a shootout, I think he controls the clock and the Bengals win going away.

 

The Chargers think they are a Super Bowl-caliber team, but this game exposed why they will not get there if they continue to play totally spaced-out defense like this. This reminds me a lot of the Fouts-era Chargers who would score 40+ and give up 30+. When they run into a defense like Denver, etc., I think they will be in trouble.

I agree and it was a tough catch. Should he have caught it? Yes.. did he No. However, didn't Chad a one point lead the league in drops? Carson throws to him. Your gonna have a drop here and there. Thats football.

Chad's toughness was never in question though. Its not a matter of dropped balls because of lack of concentration like Chad's were. Henry drops balls because he is scared.

Only other thing i'll say is LT is sick. The stats he puts up year after year are amazing. Its a bold statment but I would probably take him over anybody... ever to play RB on my team.

Henry is under his rookie contract, now I have no clue what it is, I doubt he is making millions a year. Or he shouldn't be if he is. Henry has made a lot of big catches for this franchise in his short stay. Lets not turn our backs on him, for one drop. Also, like GT said... he probably has a few lawyers on his payroll lol.

The defense is another story, couldn't get a stop when needed but TJ's drop was a huge miss for the Bengals. The defense is bad, they were better in '05 because they caused a ton of turnovers, this year they can't get a TO, and they can't/don't bring any consistent pressure. I couldn't believe thousands were leaving after SD's last score, what a bunch of pessimist's, yes the Bengals loss but how can you leave down 8 with 3 minutes left and 41 on the board? I didn't feel confident but they moved it into the redzone but that 4 WR set wasn't what I had in mind. Holt, TStewart, Henry and CJ, too bad TJ got knocked out. Luckily KC and Jax lost, their is still a small window and a very tough schedule but we'll see.
