November 13, 200619 yr Today the outside pass to the sideline was wide open on nearly every third down. Pretty sad. But I think that was due to not taking chances to go after the QB(Rivers). :thumb: :thumb: Tory got abused at least 3 times on 3rd down and long.

The Bengals had plenty of time, to score at the end, they just didn't get it done. The ONLY thing that hurt the Bengals today was the lack of a defense. 42 points in the second half...Are you kidding me? Breshnahan needs to be fired.
November 13, 200619 yr Being at the game makes it a lot easier to view the schemes of the D and seeing what they are trying to do and on 3rd downs in the second half it was pretty sad looking. Rush 4 with 1 LB blitzer. He was the one showing every time. Zone cover with cushion. Chargers shift creates major mismatch. 1st down. Sound like your notes???

At the set I'm talking about the Bengals burned a TO on a 3rd and 9. With 5 minutes left and down 1, you can't be in a position to need one there. After the TO, they make the awful challenge. So, in one play at a critical 3rd and 9 they use 2 TOs and don't get off the field...
November 13, 200619 yr I hate Ratliff, I don't know how he's still in uniform. Caleb Miller is average, nothing more, nothing less. And I've never been sold on our corners. Even last year they seemed to get beat a LOT, and were poor tacklers. Fortunately last year they forced a LOT of turnovers. Unfortunately they can't force any this year. Overall I have liked the past few drafts. You can't expect everyone to be amazing, and of the players that have been drafted many are producing. I totally agree. Their past drafts have been positive. Last year there were a LOT of turnovers and they aren't happeing this year. I really feel that you can't count on your defense to make turnovers. You have to get stops and the Bengals D hasn't provided them this year.

I noticed the Zone w/cushion mostly but I can remember a few times they rushed 4 with 1 LB blitzer. It was just amazing how much space they were giving them. It almost seemed to me that chuck was trying to avoid letting SD get a big play off and thats all he was worried about.

I just think that the Bengals choked on third and long. You can place all the blame on the corners inablity to cover Floyd (who is that guy anyways). He isn't that good and the Bengals made that guy look like a world beater today.:scared:

You have to remember this defense almost lost to the Green Bay Packers last year. Thank you for the drunk guy who ran out on the field and ruined the momentum that the Packers had in that game. At least the Bengals took a chance and provided pressure that way. We need'd a good drunk guy in this one today to do the same thing.:laugh: :banana:
