November 13, 200619 yr I turned down a ride and walked all the way back to Newport because I was so mad... :lol: We sat at the top of the parking garage for like 35 minutes and didn't even move traffic was so bad outside no one was getting out. I almost wanted to walk home too.:fight:

The entire way home I just couldn't think of anything else other than disappointment. By the time I actually got home I confused myself so much trying to figure out what is wrong with this Bengals team. I finally came to the conclusion that this is just not a very good NFL team. :cry:

The Giants are making it work. The Chargers have been making it work since before the season started. If that's what he has to fall back on...................

Joseph? Peko? Landon? Caleb? Enlighten me... Odell was a known problem. As much as I like #58 , he's not a 4th round choice. Keiwan has not been a good pick. So that's part of the problem. Lack of pressure can be attributed to lack of ability and/or lack of schemes. Lack of pressure can also come about due to lack of faith in the corners. I have no doubt #20 can't handle one-on-one man coverage. #24 has shown that last year was more about bad passes than his ability to cover. I'm no defensive expert but I'd suspect that our safeties are part of the problem as well. I sure see some catches made in the middle of the field. So, if you're Chuck B and you realize that you can't cover very well, how comfortable are you with blitz packages? I don't think "fire Chuck" is the end all/be all. I lay it more on the side of talent (or lack thereof).

In the 4 wins they get off the field on 3rd down, and win TOP. In the loses they get torched in both (minus today because the Chargers didn't need it long to score). Maybe they made plays in those 5 games in spite of the scheme. Maybe they've lost 5 because of a lack of talent and injuries. Either way, the season is headed in a downward spiral way too fast...

Cleveland is Cleveland. Big Ben kept the score low for Pitt with ill-advised stupid plays. Bucs never score and play with a rookie qb. Panthers are not an offensive force. Ravens are OK. What speaks to me is the ATL game. Cleveland and Detroit have shown that ATL's offensive performance against CINN was due to CINN and not ATL. This defense cannot make plays and cannot get off the field. I don't know if Chuck is the reason for that or not. "Fire Chuck" seems more like talk show fodder to me.

You know I'm not a typical fan in how I see the game, and I pay attention to schemes and blown coverages. From what I've seen on 3rd down (and more today because I was there) it's the scheme more often than not. The middle and deep sideline routes are always wide open. If it was once or twice, I can put it on a player. Over this many games, I'm looking at the scheme very closely, and not liking what I see... What speaks to me is the ATL game. Cleveland and Detroit have shown that ATL's offensive performance against CINN was due to CINN and not ATL. Vick didn't kill himself. They used the same gameplan as the Bengals, but it was one of the few times a year Vick makes you pay. And when it comes to matching Vick in talent, I'd say easier said than done...

I really feel that both offense and defense haven't taken chances like they did last year. I think if the defense blitzes more and the offense takes more chances down field we are talking about a different season for the Bengals. Also it can be brought up that the Bengals have never really establisted themselves as a running team. Rudi has been struggle city this year dispite a TD today. I feel that their inability to run the clock in the second half was the deciding factor in the game.

Being at the game makes it a lot easier to view the schemes of the D and seeing what they are trying to do and on 3rd downs in the second half it was pretty sad looking.

I lay it more on the side of talent (or lack thereof). I hate Ratliff, I don't know how he's still in uniform. Caleb Miller is average, nothing more, nothing less. And I've never been sold on our corners. Even last year they seemed to get beat a LOT, and were poor tacklers. Fortunately last year they forced a LOT of turnovers. Unfortunately they can't force any this year. Overall I have liked the past few drafts. You can't expect everyone to be amazing, and of the players that have been drafted many are producing.

Today the outside pass to the sideline was wide open on nearly every third down. Pretty sad. But I think that was due to not taking chances to go after the QB(Rivers).
