November 12, 200619 yr Once again. Marvin does not call the D. The guy that does needs to be fired, yet his name is never mentioned...
November 12, 200619 yr Maybe he should. Maybe they should let the fans text message the defensive call. Can't do much worse. That's a loss that teams point to after the season and say 'that's where the wheels officially came off the wagon.'

November 12, 200619 yr Is it Bresnahan? I'm really not sure. Yes it is. The most passive defensive mindset I've ever seen...

November 12, 200619 yr He was in post # 17 You're the only person (besides me ) I've heard rip him...
November 12, 200619 yr Once again. Marvin does not call the D. The guy that does needs to be fired, yet his name is never mentioned... Nor can Marvin play on the defensive side of the ball. The fact of the matter is that this team, much like last year at safety, is down to playing guys who would NEVER see the field for any NFL team. Anytime you have a guy, in his first year coming over from the CFL, starting.......well it's going to be bad. I was talking about this the other day with someone. Think about Simmons, Pollack, Thurman as starters at LB. Now who is the Bengal's best LB currently? Landon Johnson? Well he got hurt today as well, so that might be another one biting the dust. The Bengal's will take their lumps this year, with the schedule and the injuries being the way they are. Thankfully, all these young guys getting PT can only help for next year.
November 12, 200619 yr At what point do you think the Bengals will start to lose their confidence? They had a swagger by the end of last year that I haven't seen in a while. This loss is just so disappointing you have to think they may have a defense/offense split develop.

Jeanty was in the CFL for family need, and would have been a NFL draft pick if he stayed in school. He's going to be a good one. Landon was back and played most of the game...
November 12, 200619 yr Yes it is. The most passive defensive mindset I've ever seen... I don't think they are passive.......they just aren't very good. The 1st 3rd down of the game, Breshnahan(sp?) brought 8 on 3rd and 19, and SD nearly picked it up. DB's who gamble too much and have lost a step, LB's that just aren't very good, and little to no pressure from the DL make it awful tough to get off the field on 3rd down.

I still stand by that Jeanty certainly wouldn't be a starter on any NFL team. Maybe Landon, but that's still a stretch IMO. The point I was trying to make is that your, projected before the season, 3 best LB's are not on the field. Any team would have a tough time overcoming that.
