November 13, 20187 yr If Louisville is “expecting” anything involving titles, then there isn’t a single coach out there that’s going to satisfy those folks. UofL should have high expectations about competing, but any talk of titles is, in my opinion, just this side of complete nonsense. UL wants 9-3 or 8-4 with an occasional 10-2.
November 13, 20187 yr I need to pass some time so I'll indulge. Other than him winning a bowl game at Purdue, what makes him a Louisville must have/can't miss. Again he may be a great coach at Louisville, but it is far from a slam dunk. This is just off of the top of my head, but how about the fact that he's already being successful at pulling talented players away from Louisville.

Take it for what it's worth.... He also tweeted five days ago that Brohm wasn't coming to Louisville. He's hedging his bets, so either way he'll be able to say he was right. It's worth nothing when it comes to Dakich. :lol2:

November 15, 20187 yr He was that guy before this season is my point. Brohm was one of the first guys mentioned when talking about top coaching candidates. The only time I have heard Brohm as a top coaching candidate has been when people have talked about who should get the UL job. Other than that I have not heard his named mentioned nationally at all, as this top coach that top programs will be fighting over. Brohm has potential to be that next top up and coming coach, but I haven't heard his named mentioned in those likes yet anywhere except from this area. Urban Meyer, Tom Herman, Brian Kelly, Scott Frost, etc. are all guys I know I definitely heard about when those coaches were at small schools and had great success to become that top hot national coach that all top program wanted. I haven't seen that with Brohm, probably because he hasn't done much in regards to winning to be that name yet, where he would be someone that the true top programs would want and would be excited about. Put it this way if USC were to hire him after this year, and finish only 6 and 6. Most of those fans probably will throw a fit, saying that is the best we can get? Is a .500 coach from Purdue? He is an up and coming coach and would be a GREAT hire for UL. However I don't think he is perceived as this national top hot coach as some on here seem to think. He may be that one day, but he isn't that yet. Those other guys I mentioned were that though.

I think Strong benefitted a lot from having a great qb in Bridgewater. Would have been interesting how he would have done after Bridgewater. Since he has left UL, he went to Texas and failed where he could have recruited and got the top guys. So far where he is at not he has done ok. Sometimes you just cant go back. Just like with Petrino currently.
