October 7, 20187 yr He played scared all night. He slide or ran sideways or out of bounds over and over. This is not just a Wilson thing. It has permeated down from the NFL through college and even into high school. I am amazed at the number of times I see high school players running out of bounds on plays rather than trying to make a move and getting an extra few yards.
October 7, 20187 yr I saw one stat / note on this one that the only time that U.K. got passed to 50 yd. line into A&M territory in this game was in the OT. Bottom line, this game was won / lost on the line and the .....Cats got whipped on the LOS all night. All in all, it was as I expected it to be, a tough road loss vs. a good team. The open / bye week is coming at a good time.
October 7, 20187 yr How many penalties did Logan Stenberg have? I agree with those who say Wilson played a little soft. He was not comfortable in his decision-making. Snell is not getting the holes to run through. A&M was the better team last night----no shame in admitting it.

I agree the QB can not do it every single time but when you are in overtime and like less than a yard to get a key first down you have to put your head down and pick it up. I would venture to say that most if not all NFL quarterbacks would have have put their head down and got the first down. Heck if he would have just got tackled and not slid he probably would have picked up the first down. You can't be successful or beat good teams if you play scared.

The defense had to be keying on Snell, and they had stopped the run all night, so I'm guessing that we get stuffed there if we run it. Now Wilson needed to get rid of it to preserve field position, but sometimes the other team's defense is really good and makes winning plays.

When you come out in the wildcat then call to and come out in another formation think you MIGHT be telling the other team you’re going to trick them and try to throw it??? That being said HOW do you take the ball away from your HEISMAN trophy canidate and put it in the hands of a quarterback who has done NOTHING ALL NIGHT??????

I would have given it to Snell as well, but the play that was called seems to work about 90% of the times I have seen it called for at least a couple of yards. The defense played well enough to win, but the offense didn't, so they have to find some playmakers in the passing game, whether it be the QB or the WR's or every team is going to stack the box. The last 6 quarters that UK has played, the defenses have done just that and the offensive output has been ugly.
