October 7, 20187 yr Wilson needs to be in a position where he has to take two or three steps back and release the ball. He needs to be a rhythm thrower. He doesn't have the accuracy to be a qb who can put one on a dime. I don't think he'll ever have that ability.

Wilson gives this team the best chance to win with his playmaking abilities, but the offense tonight did not play to his strong suit. He needs to get the ball out of his hands quick. Too many plays tonight that required time to develop and the line either didn’t give enough time or the receivers never got open.

With the scheme Kentucky was running tonight, the offensive line was not prepared. I don’t blame the o line, I blame the coaches for not putting them in the best situation for success.
October 7, 20187 yr Ok I just thought the oline did what was needed. This offense needs a rhythm thrower (someone who can throw on set plays). It was clear tonight that they were relying on Wilson to do too much with his feet.
October 7, 20187 yr Offensive penalties hurt all night also, erased a couple of nice plays and put them behind the chains constantly. Defense did play well, but they did miss more tackles than in any other game this year. Aggies were able to prolong drives all night and keep UK backed up deep when they finally punted.

The recipe is out now on how to stay with the Cats, contain Snell if you can by stacking the box. and dare Wilson to throw mid-range to deep passes. This is the first team that was faster than the Cats. It looked like Wilson could easily get a first down and the Aggies closed really fast. As the game was progressing, one thing that I believe being overlooked is the Aggies put the ball on the ground a lot and the Cats only made them pay once. Teams that win on the road against their equal have to get those balls on the ground. The top level teams have very good staffs that can review film and game plan to make you do what you are weakest in doing -- and have the athletes to make it work. There is enough film now on Wilson and the Cats for that. TA&M did that to the Cats offense. Wilson will have to prove he can throw from the pocket to beat the good teams. The Cats have progressed in talent enough to beat the average teams no matter what. Wilson is also good enough to do that. The defense is national level. They were on the field way too much last night and still played great. Either they get a real passing game or accept their ceiling.

October 7, 20187 yr I'll have to watch it again this week, I don't remember a slide at all. He was pretty clearly tackled or tripped up short every time I remember him coming up short. QBs that take on tacklers, normally don't last long...unless they are built like Tebow. He played scared all night. He slide or ran sideways or out of bounds over and over.
