Honest question for those who do not think that Cov Cath is #1 in the state (or even #2 behind Male), is there anything that Cov Cath can do that would change your opinion? They obviously can't change their schedule, that is already set, but is there anything that they can do to change your opinion? If not I respect that, I am just curious.

Ballard beat Central and is ranked #8 in the BGP #6A rankings. Freddy D put a running clock on Madison Central this past weekend. Madison Central is ranked #10 in those same BGP rankings.

 

Ballard also took Manual to OT who lost to Central who Ballard beat and Ballard was really ahead most of the game against Manual. Ballard is better than they were the game against Boyle but so is Boyle. I still think that I would take FD #5A and Boyle #5B . I think that South Warren is not getting a lot of credit either. Coach Smith has them playing some good ball right now and can't wait for the Bowling Green game.

I’m sure Freddy D has gotten better since their first game as well. I can’t prove Freddy D is better than Boyle County and it can’t be proven that Boyle County is better than Freddy D. It’s simply my opinion that Freddy D is better than Boyle County right now. I’ve seen nothing that suggests that Boyle County is better than Freddy D or even South Warren at this point. My guy at South Warren says that they are 7-10 points better than Boyle County and he says he was watched a couple of Boyle County games on film.

Because of their schedule I am interested to see how they do against Highlands and then after that we’ll have to wait until the playoffs to find out how good they are. They could be the best team in the state but Male and Scott County have beaten teams that are arguably better than CovCath. It’s just hard to tell how good they are when the most competitive game they have had so far is from the best 1A school in the state.

 

Scott County was headed to a possible first half running clock against Highlands so if CovCath does the same at least we’ll know for sure they are at the same level.

Frederick Douglass hasn’t played anyone to prove that they’re worthy of a top five ranking, and there’s no argument for their weak schedule. IMO Scott County will put a running clock on Freddy D.

Based on what we have seen so far I’m not sure how anyone can say anything with certainty about where Boyle County, Freddy D and South Warren are compared to one another. For me, today, I have no reason to believe that Boyle County can defeat the top 4 teams in 6A(Male, Scott County, Trinity, Freddy D) or the top two teams in 5A(CovCath and South Warren). Those 6 teams will either match or exceed Boyle County’s skill and athleticism at every position. All 6 of those teams are well coached and all 6 of those teams have depth that would likely eventually wear Boyle County out.

 

I think Boyle County defeats everyone else in the state and yes, I definitely think Boyle County would defeat Bowling Green and St. X.
