August 23, 20188 yr I honestly don’t know but OSU supplies him with pretty much everything. I’d be interested in knowing who can legally see his phone records regarding who supplied him his phone.
August 23, 20188 yr He is able to coach practice(in person) after the first game and then the next two games he doesn’t get to coach from the sidelines. Suspension in name only. It sounds like a pretend suspension.
August 23, 20188 yr If your contention is that OSU could have retrieved the deleted texts but didn’t then it goes against your belief about the investigation being thorough. My guess, based off of their displeasure with how he deleted the texts that they had no legal recourse to retrieve them. That’s what I was thinking. They seem to have given up on retrieving the texts for some reason. Has to be a legal issue, right?
August 23, 20188 yr Depends. We can only go by what they are telling us. We’ll never be able to prove what Urban knew and when he knew it. You’ll never be able to convince me that Urban didn’t know anything at all until a few weeks ago. There’s no way I’ll believe that. The question I have is what does OSU know and are they hiding/covering up their investigation to save Urban and Gene. I think deep down not even OSU fans believe that.

August 23, 20188 yr The OSU campus police, in coordination with the Powell PD, alerted the OSU Deputy Title IX Coordinator of the police investigation. The investigator spoke with Meyer and Gene Smith about it. Meyer and Smith continued to monitor the police investigation. So the Title IX Compliance Officer knew, the news didn’t come from Meyer or Smith though, who was focused on the police side.

I mean somehow OSU managed to make OSU fans and non fans mad so I guess I would conclude this whole day wasnt handled well.

August 23, 20188 yr This is nothing. And we all know Urban knew everything about the situation and that this was a win at all costs scenario. They got busted and he tried to save face and his job. At least he saved his job though, right? Spot on.
August 23, 20188 yr I have still have some questions about the findings after reading the full report but any conversation we have on that would be conjecture and, let’s be honest, none of us are going to get anywhere with conjecture. My question is why the hell did this take almost 12 hours today? Good lord. This day was set up perfect since I was off work and would have all day to discuss this after I assumed the news would drop sometime around noon or early afternoon. Now I’m going to be lucky if I am able to get anything done tomorrow. Great.

It doesn’t change the outcome but it wasn’t winning that kept Zach Smith employed it was 100% loyalty to his grandfather that kept him employed. Recievers coaches are everywhere. Hell, Ohio State replaced him with a better coach within 24 hours of firing him. It doesn’t change that Urban should have known about the stuff going on, but at least have the correct narrative here. If Zach Smith wasn’t the grandson of Earle Bruce, Urban likely wouldn’t have given him any benefit of the doubt.
