February 20, 20188 yr Lost the 2012 final 4 as well. The NCAA got this one right. So if the Final Four game between Kentucky and Louisville in 2012 didn't happen. Does that mean we have to go with my wife's version of how we met? I say that we met that day. We were both pretty intoxicated and barely spoke and went about our days. She claims we met a couple weeks later at Keeneland. I am not pleased with these developments.

Chuck Smrt was hired for his expertise in NCAA policy. UofL followed his council for how to lessen the severity of the blow. Should he be sued for malpractice?

Especially considering the whole sham with UNC over two decades. I've said multiple times, UL or any school for that matter just tell the NCAA to shove it when it comes to the banner. The 2013 team all have their rings and other memorabilia. The fans still have shirts, banners, posters and video of the finals that shows UL beating Michigan on the court and the NCAA (along with CBS) declaring UL as Men's college basketball champs for 2013. They dropped the confetti and played "one shining moment" didn't they? Can't the owners of the YUM! center tell the NCAA we can hang whatever we want wherever we want with the signs and banners saying what ever we want them to say? NCAA is a total CORRUPT dinosaur, that constantly contradicts itself.

February 20, 20188 yr They are going to give UL these sactions but let UNC skate. This is why the NCAA is a useless, spineless organization. Lots of organizations are being run like the NCAA. It's not what you do to break the rules, it's who you ARE and who you KNOW in the organization's ruling hierarchy that lets you get by with no reprimand or penalty, all smoke and mirrors.

That sounds good except they'd be limiting opportunities for athletes in every other sport at the university. The only way a school is leaving the NCAA is if they all are leaving - at least the Power 5 schools (which has been discussed).

I'm pretty sure the NCAA would have those removed too and I doubt they will allow UofL to hang a "replacement banner."

They cant use NCAA obviously, or any other phrase they have trademarked. They will return trophies distributed by the NCAA and things of that nature, but they can't keep you from hanging something up that doesn't have their name on it.
