Perhaps fighting on the bus is a different topic, BUT when Gary Schulte was the head boys basketball coach there (way back when) he believed that if they didn't have at least one fight at practice each week, it wasn't a healthy environment.

Not disagreeing with you but the dysfunction has nothing to do with who was related to who.

Once again it doesn't matter who is on the staff the head coach has to take control and that didn't happen.

 

Yes it does! When you work or play for people you know you get comfortable with them and act different and more loosely. Also you discipline can be different. Billy over here flipped off the coaches in pratice and gets to sit for a game where jimmy (a coach's son) told the coach to shove it where the sun doesn't shine get a a talking to because he is a coach's son. This why the saying is do not hire family or friends

Inner city kids is a cop out. I will leave it at that. I won’t answer IMs or anything of that sort but inner city kids line really stuck a cord.

 

It has been my experience that inner city kids are a problem until they help the program win. My question is about the parents in the stands: How many of those causing trouble are parents of the so called inner city kids? I have no dog in this fight, but to make a statement like that? Struck a cord with me also. I am done with this. Hope you guys find a coach that will right the ship and win some games for you.

No one complained when they won State Championships and relatives were coaching. Its easy to blame others, I like Dan a lot but he isn't a head coach and lots the team and not just this year.

The last Coach knew he wasn't going to be there long so he wasn't going to try to change the flow of the Ohio River while he was there.

 

The larger point is NCC needs to clean house and get rid of "everyone related to anyone" on the staff.

Seems pretty easy to get discipline in line. Say “This is how we are doing things and if you don’t do it my way you’ll be on the bench”. There is a reason Bellicheck is successful (other than Tawmy Braady), he wants each player to execute plays certain ways and if they don’t it’s out the door you go. If the coach wants you to run a 5 yard post with a cart wheel during a draw play, you do it .

It has nothing to do with cleaning house. I agree some assistants need to go but that wasn't the problem and I don't get how some of you don't see it. Just because I guy has put in all this time doesn't make him a head coach.

Coach Wags was the head coach from 2013-2017. He replaced Eddie Eviston.
