Finally, with the growth in Union booming Cooper will end up being one of the biggest schools in the state in the next 3 years which potentially means additional talent headed his way.

It all starts and ends with the head coach. Dan is great guy and has been around for a long time but that doesn't mean he gets a pass. The last few years his teams had no discipline, had to many personal fouls without any repercussions and that's a problem. So regardless whether he was forced out or not that shouldn't matter there needed to be a change at the head coaching position IMO. Who ever is the new head coach it will be up to him who is on his staff.

I talked to someone today that claims intimate knowledge of the situation and that person said the main issues were offensive dysfunction and lack of leadership/action from Coach Wagner dealing with that dysfunction.

Go back to the Schneider and Eviston State Champ teams and you will find just as many coaches "related to someone". There is not a tree trunk full of "non-related to someone" assistant coaches just wanting to put all that time in for no money.

Point is no one complains when Assistant Coaches on State Champ teams have sons, brothers, nephews, cousins on those State Champ teams.
