Church Shooting in San Antonio, TX; Multiple Fatalities, Shooter Dead

Featured Replies

Seems to be a world problem that needs to be tackled. Mass shootings seem to be an American problem.

Have you been to England or France lately? They have stricter gun laws than we do and it's as big if not a bigger issue over there than it is here.

Guess again.

What's your plan to keep the gun away from the bad guy?

It's too late... massive gun production has created an issue now that has no solution. Too many guns means too many guns get into the wrong hands. We've created this mess and now we have to live/die with it.

Yet they still have problems nonetheless. I recently read where there were 27% more casualties per capita from mass public shootings in EU than US from 2009-15.

I didn't say they didn't, but keep dancing.

There are always bad guys, they don't need a gun. This guy just as easily could have blown the church up or driven into it with a semi...the gun is only the instrument of his evil warped plan.

So yes there will ALWAYS be a need for Good Guys with a gun...they won't stop every murderous plan but it's good to know they can stop some.

Hypothetically they can use a pizza cutter, but we seem to have a problem with responsible use of guns.

It can always go the other way too. Good guys were mistaken for accomplices to the recent Walmart shooter with their guns drawn, but no one fired a shot. The worst case would be killing someone accidentally.

You're pretending as if we don't already have gun control. Take a good look at the gun laws already in place. Laws, mind you, that are being ignored by these nut jobs committing such heinous acts.

I am just looking at the facts and statistics and saying why not ban semi-automatic weapons. Why not?

American shooting seem to generally fall into one of two categories...Mental Disorder or a Hate/Ideaology. Those are the issues that need to be addressed not the window dressing that is guns.

Tall order of changing the hearts and minds. Seems easier to restrict the tool.

Let's fix the gun problem in this and many other killings this year. Then we will fix the bomb problem if that becomes the next method.

The arguments that the perpetrators will find something else to kill with are not a reason we should not try to stop them from killing with semi-automatic weapons.

So let me ask the direct question - why shouldn't semi-automatic weapons be banned?

Guess again.

The world has the same amount of mass shooting as the US?

I can't say that I disagree with that, which is why I don't believe gun control is a solution. All that gun control will do is take guns away from the good guys.

Who's doing the dancing? You said they didn't have the problem, they do.

They will just use another tool as seen in other countries, as well as our own.

There are some common sense gun control efforts I could support but banning or restricting ownership of any currently legal firearm isn't part of it.

So, no hunting rifles?

I'm willing to bet this will be a domestic terrorism case when all is out in the open or at least it should be looked at as that...as well as a hate crime even though I think Hate Crime laws are a waste of time and energy.

No I didn't
