Not vague enough...:lol2:

We are staying out of politics here Jim, after all that horse has been beaten to death on here in the past.

I pointed general fingers toward the political parties. I was hoping that worked.

But am I off-base in why it's hitting closer to home for us in KY?

And instantly rules concerning how trucks are rented were being looked at.

And who rented them...

I'll bow out now. Good discussion that I hope keeps going, but on the level.

Sir, you don't seem to understand per capita.

In 2015

California had 1,861 gun murders while Kentucky had 209. Quite a difference in the two, right?

Per Capita California with a Population of nearly 39,000,000 people has a rate of 4.8

Per Capita Kentucky with a Population of 4,400,000 people has a rate of 4.7 or nearly identical to that of California

Does anyone think they have a similar gun homicide problem? No, I don't. That's why I don't like the Murder Rate or Murder per Capita based on population.

And instantly rules concerning how trucks are rented were being looked at.

What will that fix? They will just steal one and complete their mission. We continue to focus on the wrong things, because treating the real problem is deemed wrong, incorrect.

Should the ban on semi-automatic weapons that was in effect from 1994-2004 be reinstated?

Why are we continuing to post gun facts when the gun isnt the issue here?

Nope.

Did this guy have pistols or rifles?

And gun laws are always being looked at.

Why are we continuing to post gun facts when the gun isnt the issue here?

Because I was making a different point brought up earlier.

If the early reports are true about the motive it is a sad day but one that is not at all unexpected. I'll wait until it is confirmed further before posting what it is.

Continuing the argument about the wrong things gets us to the state we are currently in.

Suspense is killing me. What is the problem?

I prefer blaming semi automatic weapons rather than the other Common denominator.

Just read that he had an rifle and was confronted by another citizen with a rifle that chased him away. Guy turned into a coward as soon as someone started shooting back at him. Who knows how many lives the citizen saved by running this coward off.

Texas Church Shooting: More Than Two Dozen Parishioners Killed - NBC NewsDressed all in black and wearing tactical gear and a ballistic vest, Kelly first began firing outside the church at around 11:20 a.m. local time (12:20 p.m. ET) before he continued his shooting spree inside, said Freeman Martin, a regional director with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was armed with a "Ruger AR assault-type rifle," Martin said.

"We know the ages range from 5 years old to 72 years of age," Martin said of the victims.

A local resident confronted the gunman after the shooting began, "grabbed his rifle and engaged that suspect," Martin said.

The gunman dropped the rifle and then fled with the resident in pursuit, he said.

As law enforcement responded, the suspect ran off the road in his car at the Wilson-Guadalupe county line and crashed, Martin said. The suspect was found dead in the vehicle.

"We don't know if this was a self-inflicted gunshot wound or if he was shot by our local resident who engaged him with gunfire," he added.
