Domestic terrorism is real folks, better wake up.

Word is that the shooter was chased into a nearby county. Not sure if he was killed by police or if he took his own life.

Official count is that 27 are dead. More than 20 injured. The shooting occurred around 11:30 am, in the middle of the service.

Edit: Now I am seeing "more than 20 dead" again, with no "official" tag.

Terrible. Prayers to all those affected.

NRA supporters better buckle up more than ever. If these mass shootings keep happening, there will be more and more pressure for stricter gun control. It is inevitable.

There's something seriously wrong with people these days. I never dreamed I'd see the level of sickness and evil that we're constantly seeing. What has changed? Why are people so hellbent on killing?

Terrible. Prayers to all those affected.

I'm sure. But what will that do to stop this? We're seeing people running over others with vehicles now. I don't think the problem lies with the chosen instrument to kill with. It's something else that I can't understand. It's getting to be a very sick world.

How would that prevent a terrible incident like this? Make a gun illegal and a nutjob is still going to get their hands on one if they really want to. There really is no way to prevent something like this, all you can hope for is that the suspect is stopped quickly. Taking guns away from average citizens wouldn't help at all, in fact it would likely make things worse.

We are quickly becoming a society that if you frequent in areas with large groups of people, it's better to have armed good guys in the crowd rather than taking their guns away. It's never going to be possible to take guns away from the bad guys, so taking guns away from you or I just helps the bad guys.

From what I saw on Facebook this is a small country church. If there are some 40+ casualties that is close to all the normal numbers of attendance. Sad. We have a lot of LEO who have been working on a security plan for our church. Sad to think one has to think in these terms.

Just saying, people are going to be saying do something. What do you do? Change nothing, lay down and take it?

See my post about our church.

The U.S. I grew up in is like a distant dream. I don't know what's wrong with people. We can't pray enough for peace it seems, we all need to try though.

Of course. People want to politicize this kind of thing probably more than anything else. I'd rather try to come together to find an actual, viable solution instead. Unfortunately, I don't know what that is at this point.
