Featured Replies

Coach Allen Feldhaus, Sr. passed away today after a long illness. Coach was a long time Mason County coach and played for University of Kentucky. He was a good man and will be sorely missed. RIP Coach!!!!!!!

The man had a presence about him - large frame and deep voice.

A true legend.

The 10th Region has lost a true icon.

The Horse. R.I.P.

Sad news , prayers for the family, a true legend around Ky.

Began coaching in the mid 1990s. My first coaching clinic was at Mason Co. I was amazed at his presence then. A truly great man and coach.

Sorry to hear this news. I remember him from the state tournament in the early ‘80s. He was a great coach and person.

One of the good guys, RIP Coach

Coach Feldhaus came to Mason County in 1975-1976 school year which was my senior year. Mason had never won a Regional Championship before Coach Feldhaus arrived. Coach stayed for 16 seasons before retiring in 1991. During that time, Coach went 325-136 for a win percentage of 70.5% and is Mason's all time winningest coach. Coach won four Regional Titles and was state runner-up in 1981. His Regional record was 21-9. He will be missed by the community, around the state and by Royal Nation. I am proud to have known you Coach!!!!! RIP!!!!!!

Really hate to hear this. Great person. The basketball family has lost a good one. R I P coach

Prayers for family and friends

When I got to Mason County, I was told if you just write "Coach" on the envelope with the address, "Maysville, KY", it would be delivered to Coach Feldhaus. I enjoyed the times we got to visit, usually at the end of the season at the H&W Show, hosted by Kenton Station Golf Course. He was always encouraging and willing to share his thoughts to make me a better coach, but also understand a little better how things work in Mason County & Maysville. A legend but also a down to earth guy that would help others. There are too many blessings to count during my time at Mason County. Without a doubt, one of the biggest was getting to know Coach Feldhaus.

I remember well the times that Coach Feldhaus, Punky Griffin and others sat around a table at the Maysville Race Book, having a good time and playing the horses.

That was quite a crew!
