I know what Danville has.

 

Truth be told with all things considered Danville should enter as a slight favorite.

 

This is a measuring stick game for Boyle.

 

If Boyle plays Danville even I think it legitimizes they are a Top 5 caliber 3A team.

 

If Boyle loses by a comfortable margin it will tell me they aren't ready for primetime yet.

 

If Boyle wins by a comfortable margin it will tell me they are a legit 3A Title contender and it is time to take them very serious as such.

 

I am going to say Danville 28-24 in a tight game that still may be too deep of water this early in the season for what is still a very young Rebel squad.

OK, I see from the update thread it was 27-19 with 5:45 to go in the 3rd.

 

Turnovers killed Wagoneer in that run by Boyle. Rebels converted them to points.

I like the things Coach Clev has done with the Admirals. I'll take Danville by two touchdowns.

IMO, Danville wins this one comfortably.. Boyle's 2 blowout wins were against 2 teams always overly hyped coming into the season.. J. Hardin, decent team, at best and Waggoner, decent team, but, lacks numbers to compete against the better teams.. Knox Central is the best win of either team and that was done by Danville..The Ads D will be the difference.. Too much speed and experience returning and they won't turn it over like Boyles 1st 2 opponents and I don't think Boyle can win the battle in the trenches against an experienced and deep line the Ads will throw at them.. It'll likely be closer on the scoreboard than it will be on the field.. Ads 34 Rebs 17

I would say Knox Central was the weakest opponent of either schools wins. They were not good last year and appear to be headed in the same direction this year. I think this will be a very good game based on the talent returning for both schools. Hope the weather is good so we can see both teams at their best.

Imo I think the Frederick Douglas is the best win between the two. That was a stacked team.

It's hard to compare really but I think I would rank them like this:

 

1. Frederick Douglass

2. John Hardin

3. Knox Central

4. Waggener

I dont have a dog in the fight but I know a little about football and talk to a lot of coaches I know or have coached with. Wireman made a good point if Boyle can contain Danville's speed which I stated earlier they have the personnel to do so Boyle will have a chance to win. I think a key for Danville success is if they can block Kelly and Paycheck up front. That is two of the top dlineman in the state and Danville won't see 2 that good the rest of the year. I have heard from other coaches they both have D1 interest. If Danville can block those two Boyle is soft on the short passing game and it will be a long night for the rebels.

Adjustments will be a key part of the game. 2 Very talented teams, I'm driving down to watch!

Boyle has a first year QB also. Danville will put pressure on him all night. Lanter has the better arm, but Thornton can beat you with his legs. Should be a good game. I'm ready to see the Will Bramel and Christian Hill match up!

Danville has already seen one legit d1 linemen who from what I saw is better than Paycheck and Kelly. Though they are good the LeBlanc kid was pretty good just way more athletic than Boyle' s linemen.

La Blanc is a very good lineman that's has committed or signed with North Texas. He is 6"1 280. Plays for Frederick Douglas. He transferred in from Texas. His dad is with Uk.

Dlineman, class of 2018.

Last ten meetings show Boyle ahead in the series 7-3. (I'm sure Danville still leads the overall series that dates back to 1965.)

 

Danville has not won 2 in a row over Boyle since 2006-2007.

 

Should be a great game. Both ranked in their respective classes. :thumb:
