Looking at the future radar....we may have a sloppy track tonight. It looks to me the outer bands of Harvey could very easily be passing through Central KY sometime today.

Advantage Danville (only if Boyle kicks it deep)

 

Overall Boyle is a better technique/disciplined team, especially on offense. Danville's overcomes mediocre technique/discipline by utilizing speed.

 

Boyle is the better overall team but could very easily lose if they allow Danville to do the only thing they can to beat Boyle....utilize their speed in the open field. If Boyle can negate this, the Rebels roll. If they cannot, the Rebels lose.

I think they can.........will they is something that we will have to wait and see. If they do they win if Danville does they win for me it's a pretty simple game tonight. I think Boyle has a lot to prove tonight after last year and I think Danville had a lot to prove last year but at the end of the day it comes down to execution and for Boyle they have a lot of youth on the field and could be a 50-50 coin flip on how well they execute. The line play is crucial for Boyle I think because that is where most of the Senior leadership is. Can't wait.

Knox Central was a huge team. Frankly I thought Danville did better than expected. That was an impressive win IMO

yes....without a doubt.

 

Danville's Oline has zero technique...they step with the wrong foot and rarely get to the second tier block. Danville's ground game success relies solely on the ability of the RB's ability to read the inside/outside zone and adjust as needed. Fortunately for Danville, the backs are very good at this and can still make the Danville ground game look good.

 

Defensively, Danville is pretty sound up front. But the nose and D ends intentionally line up a yard off the ball. Again, the only reason for this is to utilize speed over technique. I will grant you Christian Hill is a really nice player and the matchup vs. Will Bramel will be a good one. If Christian can avoid locking up with Bramel, I think he wins more reps than he loses.

 

Again, just my opinion, but Danville can win with speed and speed alone. I do not believe they can consistently move the ball vs Boyle and will need some big offensive plays to win the game. Defensively, I think Danville will need some Boyle miscues, penalties, turnovers to keep Boyle out of the end zone.

 

I reserve the right to be completely wrong about 10:00 tonite.

You know more about line play than I do for sure but I know what I've watched so far this season. Danville's defense, including the line, is really good. I'm interested to see how it plays out tonight. I have a feel we will know early what kind of game we are in for.
