I am in the Total Eclipse Zone!

The lovely lady, two grandkids and me watched the peak and it was cool, however, it was dusk-like (early dusk). I thought it would be a little darker. I never thought it would go total, but thought more. That 4-6 % is plenty of light to see what is going on.

The sun will damage your eyes and your smartphone. Protect both.

Again fear based hype my phone is fine...

Ok the difference between 99% and 100% is ridiculous!!!

If you didn't get 100% you honestly missed the show. I'm so glad I was able to drive an hour or so and see it completely. WOW!!!

Coolest thing I've EVER seen!!!

This. I'm kicking myself for not driving down to the lake this morning. It was 99.4% here and was cool but not that big of a deal.

You alright?

Was your mind blown?

Celebrating with another glass of wine?

Starting to worry as your last post was at 8:24 this morning.

On the road?

Collecting your thoughts, and presently composing your assessment?

Next chance you get let us know that you're alive, and didn't pass out from all of the excitement.

Have this picture in my head of you sitting a' top a mountain somewhere in Tennessee with a stunned look on your face, and can't move. :lol2:

It got to about beer o’clock looking in the Hebron area… was definitely hoping for more darkness.

At any rate... it was super cool watching with one of the PV Jrs!!

Based on what I saw in Cincinnati, video I saw of totality and reading comments here, the summary on this is it is awesome if you experience totality and a so-so novelty if not. In Cincinnati if you have ever seen a crescent moon, then that is what it looked like at its peak. And as far as brightness, in Cincinnati it was like a cloudy day. In fact there have been plenty of cloudy days that were darker than what it got here. I believe it was 91% to totality at its peak in Cincinnati

I've got a neat time lapse video from the backyard but I can't figure out how to get from my phone to in here :lol2:

A little darker outside, can't really see much even with glasses. Not even worth the 5 minutes I wasted looking. Maybe it was cool in the direct path.

We had about 30 seconds of totality. Pretty cool

Even though Bowling Green was in the path of the totality, I made the half hour trip down to Franklin, KY with my wife in tow. It was the difference between about 50 seconds and 2:30 of totality. It was an awesome experience! So glad we got to enjoy it!

Would love that see that.

I wish I had longer. We are on the edge of the one of 2024. I think I might travel to a friends in Missouri to get a longer time of totality

French Lick is in the path of 2024. We are already getting reservation requests.

Suffices to say that I soiled my pants when the sun's corona made it's appearance. Then two and a half minutes later I was sitting on that TN mountain precisely as you described...stunned and catatonic. Then I just remember apologizing to the Knack and singing something like "My Corona... My, my,my corona!"
