I am in the Total Eclipse Zone!

I'm watching on Channel 48 in Cincinnati...

Not sure why exactly, but 15 minutes into this program it blipped, and then started all over from the beginning...

...Highly unusual

I do hope that they allow the ending to mess up their schedule, and go until 10:15.

Yep...they screwed me out of the last 15 minutes of the program to stay on schedule.... guess that I can always find the entire program online. :ohbrother:

They're so messed up....now the episode is continuing, but has gone back about 15 minutes...I'm assuming their goal now is to have it wrapped up by 10:30...

Well... at least it appears that I get to see the whole thing

Some taken with a Canon Powershot with solar glasses eyepiece taped onto lens. This worked pretty good. Ones above were with Canon D40 and 70x200 2.8 lens.

We're watching in the Perimeter Plaza parking lot in Cookeville.

Passed by there on the way out, we were less than 2 miles apart.

My Corona...that's classic!!! :lol2:

Was thinking that the Corona Beer Company must've done well today.

Good to know you're doing fine, and thanks for the enthusiasm that you have built around this event. Learned way more things about it than I might've otherwise, and because of you, knew well in advance, and way before the media jumped on it. :thumb:

Though I was nowhere near totality, it was a good day to reflect on how every day is precious. Have to admit that there was a bit more than usual dose of emotion running through me today.

One thing leads to another which is why I'm now watching "The Dark Side Of Oz"

I don't care what anybody says, and even the members of Pink Floyd, there's no doubt in my mind that they did indeed pull this ingenious mind blowing synchronization. Way too much stuff happening to just simply be a coincidence.

Bet they've made a pact to take confirmation of this secret to their graves.

If you've never seen it, check it out sometime for real.

Glad you're alive and well... can't wait to hear more about your experience.

This was me today as well. Lot of emotion, spiritual connection to the amazing universe, humbled, blessed, overcome by emotion. So thankful I got to experience it. Maybe we can all gather in Indiana or Northern Ohio in seven years and experience it again.

So I definitley understand what you were talking about. While we didn't get totality here in The Ville, we watched on tv as other parts of the country experienced it. It's dark here, but not middle of the night dark.

Gave me a good perspective on just how powerful the sun is, in a couple different ways. One, with only 4% of the sun showing, it's still pretty darn light outside, considering almost all of the sun is covered. Also, when wearing the glasses, you can't see anything at all unless you're looking at the sun.

Just got home.

It was seriously the most awesome thing that I have ever seen. The "diamond ring effect" was beyond my wildest dreams. It put every diamond I've ever seen to shame.

We saw prominences (storms) on the edge of the sun. Planets became visible. I just can't believe it.

Deuce, you have to go in four years. It's that simple. You must experience this.

Something we will never forget. Wow! And the weather was perfect. So thankful to have experienced it.

I can't recall ever confirming plans for anything 7 years in advance, but there's always a first, huh?

In this case I will reply to your suggestion with a resounding YES!!!

I have to go next time where there is longer totality. 25-30 seconds wasn't enough.

I hope the trees leave me alone and I am still alive in seven years. :)

One of the news crews from Louisville tweeted about an hour ago that they had been in traffic for almost seven hours and still weren't back to E-town yet.

I'm happy that those of you who made the trek to the path of totality had your expectations realized.

For those of us in the 93% category, it was a lot of hoopla about nothing.

As a matter of fact, had it not been publicized, I doubt many would have noticed anything out of the ordinary other than it clouding up, without realizing an eclipse was happening.

I hope the trees leave me alone and I am still alive in seven years. :)

Funny you should say that, as I almost said something in a similar line of

"If, of course, I'm still here"

...but then just thought to myself that my confidence that I will be, would be enough to ensure that I indeed will be.

If only it worked like that, but until it doesn't, that's how I intend to roll.

I've already figured that I'll be a month shy of my 60th birthday, and I've already decided that I'm seeing 60.

Saw someone say they didn't back to Lexington until midnight.
