Guilty Pleasures: Concert Edition

Featured Replies

We've had "guilty pleasure" threads previously.

To be clear a "guilty pleasure" is something that YOU like BUT many others would make fun of you for doing so. So saying you like , say, AC/DC isn't a guilty pleasure.

So....let's hear what concert you attended that you liked that others may give you a hard time for.

Mine(and I'm guessing @Oldbird) would be Barry Manilow. Great show! However, I did catch some guff from some of my boys.

So...yours?

Back in my early media days I worked and had to sit through a lot of concerts I never would have spent any of my own money on. The only one that really blew me away was Alanis Morissette. Enjoyed Jagged Little Pill when it came out but she was much better live...

Judy Collins, front row center. Back in the day.

I met Judy Collins about 15 years ago when I was in the music industry and she gave a quick 1/2 hour set for the group of about 100 or so that I was in.

Years ago I took my mom to a Tom Jones concert, she loved his music so much. I have to say, I completely enjoyed it. I would have gone to see him again if I had the opportunity.

And before anyone asks, I hung on to my underwear. So did mom.

I would love to see Tom Jones in concert!!!!

Toss up. Went to see Cher with my Uncle. There were a lot of 'couples' there. We looked like we fit in rather well.

Neil Diamond, Saw him 2 nights after seeing Alice Cooper.

We saw Barry Manilow in Vegas and it was a fantastic show!

I saw ICP back in the day at the old Caddy's Garage before they built the new stadiums. I had a blast just because of how bizarre and funny the whole thing was. Some of the songs are pretty good.

One of my buddies from work (Best Buy days) insisted I go, and a few of the other folks from work went as well. He paid for my ticket and even picked me up on the way, but I had to give him the 10 bucks back because it was one heck of a bargain for those kinds of laughs.

Guess that makes me an honorary, plain-clothes member of Juggalo Nation. :D

Taylor Swift. I don't care much for her last couple of albums, but I saw her in 2007 when she was still singing country and opening for Brad Paisley. It's easily one of my top 3 concert memories.

Stumbled upon a free Vanilla Ice concert on the Levee. It was my first concert and I enjoyed every minute of it.
