May 23, 20179 yr Tomorrow at 11:59 is the deadline to withdraw from the draft, so what does everyone think Diallo will do? From all I am reading he is slated to be taken late 1st - early 2nd round. Does he come back as this is a strong class and next year doesn't look to be as strong of a draft class, so they are saying. Or does he stay in and hope he sneaks into the guaranteed contract?
May 23, 20179 yr I've seen him anwhere from 21st to 38th. Most have him in the top 30 though. Just my guess, but I think he has heard what he wants to hear from a first round team, and he stays in the draft. Would love to see him back though. I just hope he has used this time wisely, and has all the info to make the right decisiion. If you 're first round - go, and good luck young man.
May 23, 20179 yr I read somewhere the theory was Brooklyn had promised they'd take him with either the 22nd or 27th pick.
May 23, 20179 yr Author This one really makes me scratch my head a little bit. It is something that only insiders in his camp and the NBA probably know. On one end he may slide to the 2nd round which is no guaranteed contract. But, if there are one of these teams like the Lakers who have 2 first round picks, they may have told him we are taking you if you are still there at 29 or whatever that pick is. I think that is the mystery. If he knows he is a first round lock, he is dumb not to stay in the draft. If there is any chance he slides to 2nd round, he should probably return.
May 23, 20179 yr Author I read somewhere the theory was Brooklyn had promised they'd take him with either the 22nd or 27th pick. If that is the case, he is gone. All it takes is one team to fall in love with his 44 inch vertical or whatever it was. It is crazy to me the dude hasn't played in an organized game in over a year and still will get drafted round 1. I am slightly surprised a team would take him round 1 with not a ton to go on. No matter what happens, good luck to the young man. Make the best decision for himself, whichever that may be.
May 23, 20179 yr He will stay in NBA. Im mad as a UK fan but cant blame him either to go do what he loves.
May 23, 20179 yr I am not surprised. I posted in the other thread back when he first declared that I thought there was a good chance he would stay in. Think about it ... get drafted by a good team, get an extra year of income and get to your next contract one year faster. Don't be surprised if this starts to be a trend. One and done might turn into one semester and done.
May 23, 20179 yr I think he stays in the draft, but I also think Cal will not accept an early enrollee like this again. Just IMO

One and done might turn into one semester and done. He was only able to do it because he fell into some type of special situation because of prep school. I don't know the details but apparently there are only two players in the country that fell into this situation this past year. Doesn't mean others couldn't purposely fall into I guess.
