IMO, SK has to beat Campbell or Ryle to make the playoffs now. That's how significant this loss is for the Pioneers. Not an easy task ahead of them.

You are correct. I do not see any way that 3-4 in the district will make the playoffs so they must go 4-1 or 5-0 to have a chance to join the fun.

I hate Dixie for the same reasons as Carson Palmer hates the Steelers. I at no point have bashed Dixie or said that their win was tainted. I have every right to hate them. I mean, i played last year and when someone beats you with 9 seconds left the sting after that game doesn't go away too quickly. And add on a 3 OT loss when you know everyone on the field personally, then there is no way i could have a positive feeling towards Dixie. I'm sure if you were in my position you would agree with me.

I'm a little older than you, so I think my perspective may be different. I don't hate people that beat me. Not even in close games. I respect that they also are trying to do the samething I am. Win. But winning is not the end all. In the heat of battle alot of people loose there heads at times. But when it's all over I wish all my competitors well and go on. My favorite teams are the ones that are tuff. Where the win is an uncertainty or in doubt. The Pioneers from last year and this have all my respect for the games they've given us, as well as the Bluebirds who waxed our behinds in the same seasons.

I wouldn't say that yet. Isn't it 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, then the winners playing each other? Not many expected Dixie to beat Ryle last year for the district championship, and they did. This season is long from over, and anything can happen during these last 5 weeks of district play.

There's now basically a district tourney with the top 4 teams.

Also, didn't SK make some poor decisions in the closing minutes of last years game with Dixie? I'm trying to remember the details but it seems to me that SK made some poor decisions that didn't run as much time off the clock as they could have and Dixie scored the winning TD with only 9 seconds left in the game.

 

IMHO, Dixie doesn't win either game if SK makes different decisions down the stretch.

 

 

I don't have the greatest memory but I think Dixie had two timeouts left during SK's last posession and I think they may have thrown two incomplete passes and Dixie prevailed with little time left on the TD pass.
