Favorite magazine to read.

Featured Replies

I prefer Military History or any type History topic magazine and hunting/fishing magazines.

Only time I pick up a magazine is in the doctor's office.

I really like Outside Magazine. I used to subscribe but I don't anymore. It seemed there were fewer and fewer features and more and more product reviews (glorified advertisements).

Rolling Stone

I've been subscribing for nearly 35 years.

In my late 20's I made the rash decision to give my then nearly 10 year collection to a friend who sounded excited about taking them when I was moving and decided not to take them with me.

The first thing he did was to cut off all of the covers and toss all the magazines in the garbage, and then decided that he didn't care about the covers either, so a few days later he tossed them away as well.

If he would have indicated his intentions I would have kept them. I've kept every issue since, but I'll always have a sick feeling in my stomach about what became of the first 10 years of my collection. :ohbrother:

Rolling Stone

Another stupid regret:

About 10 years ago Rolling Stone offered a lifetime subscription for $100. A friend of mine took them up on it and is now covered for life. I let the offer slip by and though it's not terribly expensive to begin with, I regret not going with it.

I can't remember the last time I read a magazine, but the last one I subscribed to was Psychology Today.

Consumer Report was one I used to read on occasion.

National Geographic

I like Skeptical Inquirer but I let my subscription run out about a year ago. I used to find it at Hastings in Richmond but they went out of business.

My all time favorite is Field and Stream! If I'm in a waiting room with several issues, I don't mind to wait.

Used to read and subscribe to SI, the Sporting News, several fitness magazines, GQ, Consumer Reports, Popular Photography, several Golf magazines and probably a few others over the years. Now, I haven't read a magazine in years. My IPad and the internet has become my main source of reading material.

Motorcycle Classics for me. I also enjoy American Hunter or nearly any hunting and fishing magazine.

Rolling Stone

This is the one I read more than others.

I'll pick up SI occasionally at the local library.

I only have two subscriptions at present, so I guess they are my favorites:

Trail Rider magazine (which will be merging with Horse and Rider in June) and

Scuba Diver - which comes with my PADI membership
