April 11, 20179 yr IMO you keep upping the ante until someone takes the offer over doing that. Or stick the 4 employees in a rental car and send them on the way. As a passenger on their upcoming flight, a flight crew exhausted from their drive down is EXACTLY what I would want...
April 11, 20179 yr As a passenger on their upcoming flight, a flight crew exhausted from their drive down is EXACTLY what I would want... It's not really my concern as a paying customer how rested the united employees are for their next shift. They should have a better plan is place.
April 11, 20179 yr I don't care what excuse he used or what is in his past. Once seated, he should not have been forced to leave and dragged down the aisle. This is all on United Airlines.
April 11, 20179 yr Author United has finally dropped the tough guy approach and apologized. Too late. They have already made themselves a case study in what not to do

Except there is fine print that says otherwise I believe. Everyone forgets after 9/11 airports are like their own country. TSA has more freedom than regular LE on the streets. I agree United should and could of handled it better. But as an adult that Doctor needs to leave the plane.
April 11, 20179 yr It's not really my concern as a paying customer how rested the united employees are for their next shift. They should have a better plan is place. Somehow I think that if you were on the plane, you would like the people in charge of whether the plane lands or crashes to be on their "A" game. But I could be wrong.

I'm not on that plane. I'm worried about what is happening on my plane and being forced off it because UA can't staff properly.

April 11, 20179 yr There are a thousand ways that United should have handled it better. He should not have been forced to leave and dragged off the plane. I think it is 100% in their right to remove him. I just don't like how they handled that process.
April 11, 20179 yr I think it is 100% in their right to remove him. I just don't like how they handled that process. I'm not sure what is in the fine print. I've not read it. What does it actually say?
April 12, 20179 yr IMO you keep upping the ante until someone takes the offer over doing that. Or stick the 4 employees in a rental car and send them on the way. They are required to have a certain amount of rest by law. They also can only travel so many hours a day, and car travel is travel. It had to be an absolute last minute emergency of some kind. I have never seen them board passengers and pull them off like that. Usually they just buy people off before they board, sometimes involuntarily. For those wondering why they said it was employees. It's because they hope people understand that something bad has happened. They are willing to compensate you for helping out in a bad situation. Usually it goes off without a hitch. $800 is pretty much two round trip tickets to anywhere in the continental US.

The flight was delayed 3 hours because of this in addition to the normal delay they had. Does this count towards their hours?
