We seem to be going off the rails here.

Keep it on the game.

Not the entire time he was there she wasn't.

So you're saying after his mother was no longer employed by the school he should've went back to Bracken County? Lol cmon now. Give credit where credit was due, MC has done it the right way from the beginning.

The call at the end of regulation (the correct call) will be debated for a while, but in the end; there was 4 minutes of OT basketball that GRC won.

Lady Royals had 18.1 secs left to try and tie it and couldn't. Even IF they would have made one of the shots down low, it would have only been a 2 pt. basket. They still would have come up short as the Cards just had to hold the ball.

The schools that have had, promoted, and the parents that have initiated the transfer of a student for the sole purpose of establishing a better HS Girls basketball team is missing the point because in the very end it doesn't matter - there is no gold at the end of the rainbow and so you win a 10Th region or 9th region championship.... does it really matter, was it really worth it... who will even remember or care a year from now

Hats off to the schools that don't perpetuate the activity and even more hats off to the parents that do not.... that's not what high school sports were meant to be...

Not the way it was back in the day of Milan Indiana and the Hoosiers story - the real genuine days of HS basketball....

I respect the schools who have players that grow up and play in the small communities where they live... its the real spirit of HS sports.

All of this!!! Well stated.

Agree

Mason had lots of chances to win the game before OT. They missed several shots and a layup and put backs. Credit this to GRC defense. This was a well fought game with both teams with lots of talent. Hard to see either team loose.

I am sure GRC will represent the 10th region well at state.

Not everyone MeanGene, just 99% of them.

Once again I seen a team going for 2 point baskets when they're down 3 with seconds ticking away. O'Mara standing past the three point line with no thoughts of kicking it out to her. I just don't get it.

If they happen to make one of the couple layups they missed in the closing seconds, GRC wouldn't have even had to inbound it.

Watch this. If you still think it's a walk ether

A- you're blind

B- you don't know basketball

C- all the above

100% neutral viewer of the films. Initially was convinced she walked from viewing the previous films from same side that the referee made the call. Watched Steve Harvey's film 20 times where I could see her foot position when receiving the ball. No question in my mind.....no walk, basket good, Mason wins. Thus we see the dangers of an official making an out of area call with three defender bodies and six feet on the ground between his view and the violation he saw decisively.

The trail official who is the furthest away from the play makes the call and there lies the problem. Why did the official under the basketball not make the call? Officials are taught to never make them selves decide the game. If the proper official makes the call, Mason fans are probably not as salty. Clark got the only official in that position on the floor in the state of KY to decide to take the game from Mason.

I posted about this same exact thing in a thread of its own.......and got blasted for it! Two refs closer didnt see it......bad look for the furthest official to make the call???

No question in 95% of people who viewed film and were there live.

Walk.

Here's my question-- and it gives the ref A LOT of credit he might not have been thinking in this moment.

If it's 50-49 and that bucket WINS the game... does that change the call? If he swallows the whistle then, it's win/lose. BUT. Could there even be a tiny possiblity that he realized all he was doing was sending a game to OT?

Conspiracy theories abound on this thread!

I am surprised someone hasn't blamed the Russians, President Trump, or hackers.

Got to blame someone except the poor play by the lady royals. The best team won.
