The rule is ALWAYS true. This was an easy call to make.

 

That is bull Clyde, players at every level pick up the ball and run to the basket to shoot a layup or to dunk. Happens at every game including tonight at the Fieldhouse and no walk called. No once you pick up your dribble, this is true.

Would you not want a paramedic to jump in and save your life if he wasn't in his jurisdiction!

 

Would you want an off duty police officer to jump in and take down a mugger...even if it was in a city where he doesn't patrol?

 

If you see something wrong, you act on it! Regardless of what you're supposed to be doing.

 

Regardless if it's his call or not, please explain his motive for calling it if he didn't see it. And if he saw it, then I would be more upset with him if he didn't call it and I could care less who wins that region. The entire argument about who's call it is is moot if it's a walk.

Regardless of what you think...how did the kids from GRC "steal" one. That's an adult talking about a kids game that can't move on.

 

Why didn't Mason "take" it. I bet they had plenty of opportunities to win this game. One call NEVER wins or loses the game for a team.

 

Go back and watch the film and if you can come back and tell me that MC did everything right and there were no missed opportunities to have done something throughout the course of the game to change the outcome, then I'll buy your "GRC got a lucky biased call" at the end theory. If the stats that were posted are even close, then I don't think you'll have to watch very much film to get your answer.

I do not know a single player on either team. If you go back earlier in the year you will find plenty of compliments from me for the Mason County girls. I'm a fan of theirs.

When I watched this tape, no matter what speed. It's simply a walk. Period. I, like others have stated, know this correct call is not what cost them the game. If either of the referees didn't make this call, I would be on the other side defending the GRC faithful complaining how their kids were ripped off.

The outcome of the correct call resulted in allowing the players decide who moves forward. This was put in the players and coaches hands by the officials doing their job

If an official looked at that video and said he wouldn't call a travel either he is afraid to make a call in that spot or he doesn't understand the travel rule.

It's leading to a loss of reality. Are there missed calls? Yes. Is it what you describe? No chance.

I get this reaction but it's the reaction from someone who has never been on the floor.

 

At that point in the game that official is looking for fouls and is not looking down at the feet. The outside official will watch for that and he did. It shows the value of a 3-man crew.

My view at the game was pretty much the same angle as the official who made the call. At the time I thought it might be a walk then after seeing the videos I am confident it was a walk. However I am a GRC fan so that is what I wanted to see just as some are as certain it wasn't because they don't want it to be. It is a very weak defense to argue that even if it was a walk it was not the trailing officials call to make. Redundancy is a part of the three official concept so they will make out of area calls occasionally. What would be nice to know is what the other two officials did or did not see and whether they opted to swallow their whistle. It is a shame that an otherwise great final game will always be remembered for this one call.
