Just talked to a referee friend of mine and he said the trail official should not be even looking in that area and pointed out that the other male official that was on the side looking straight at the play also never made the call. The official behind the play and farthest away was Clark County's hero.

It was close but I know refereeing works pretty much and that was not his call or in his area. Plus, he had the worst view of the play. That is my problem.

Which official called the walk the one out front in front of the Mason bench.(if so he would have had the best look) the baseline official was on the right side pretty far out towards the right corner. (if the ref at half court on the opposite side called the walk) then I can see how people would be upset. Even if she did walk they is no way that official could have seen it well enough to call it. imo

Walk or not walk is not the problem. An official made a game decided call out of his area and the official closest to the call, in her area, did not make the call. I have many friends that are referees and I know calling out of your area is a major no no. Yet this guy wanted to be the hero.

 

Completely disagree. If the call is correct, I don't care if they made it from the hot dog stand. The idea is for at least one of the 3 officials to make the right calls. If he hadn't called the travel, it sounds like the game would have been decided on a missed call. Yet you're complaining about the right call from the wrong guy! Thank you for that breakdown. It's was a tough call but it was the right call. If it would have been on Clark Co in that position, sure I would have heartache because it didn't work out for my team. But it was the right call.

 

Both teams had a four min OT period to win it. Clark did just that.

What would we do without you, Clyde. Good explaination. I'm not going to buy in to the "that's not his call" saying. If it doesn't get called Mason County wins the region on a missed walk call and there's a lot of upset GRC fans.

So if he sees the travel (even if he's not supposed to be looking there) should he not call what he saw???
