March 1, 20179 yr Crazy morning! Power goes out at work. Then sirens start going off. We got all the students down to basement hallway sitting with backs against interior walls. Priest comes down and we all pray the Rosary. Kids were amazingly calm and cooperative. So grateful for that. Came home and neighborhood is a mess. All safe and nobody injured. More reasons to be thankful.

March 1, 20179 yr Lots of wind and heavy rain in Covington, but we probably get less than those in the southern end of the counties in NKY. My son is an asst. principal in Boone Co and they had all the kids in school when they called it. They had no bus service and had to wait until noon to get all the parents there to get them. He said it was a crazy day. He said driving to work from Independence was as scared as he's ever been on the road.

March 1, 20179 yr There's a lot of damage between Independence Station and Richardson Road towards the Turkeyfoot end. The UDF roof over the gas pumps is dented inwards. It appears that there might be a section of roofing on the top of the store. The apartments behind it is missing panels of their metal roof. Fencing and trees are down. The bleachers on one of the fields at Richardson Road park were blown off their concrete pad and now sit in the dugout. That's where I was referring. I love a few hundred yards from there!

March 1, 20179 yr Anybody in western KY report any damage? My brother-in-law put a picture on Facebook where there was a trampoline in the street. That was in Princeton.
March 1, 20179 yr Most of downtown Ashland has been without power all day due to downed lines/leaning poles along Winchester Avenue.
