Had to hold onto my car while pumping gas at the Newport Kroger this morning. Trash cans were flying in the air, and the wind would've knocked me over otherwise.

 

Scary stuff.

No electric at Bracken County High School but we can't miss valuable instruction time so here we are in the dark. Back-up generator going on and off.

Wife had a meltdown this morning because of the tornado warning. Daycare wasn't answering the phones (their power was out), so as I was pulling into work I was tasked with driving into the tornado area (yay me!) to go check and make sure the little man was okay. As I'm almost there she calls and tells me to turn around, that they just called her and said everything was fine. :irked: :irked:

There's a lot of damage between Independence Station and Richardson Road towards the Turkeyfoot end. The UDF roof over the gas pumps is dented inwards. It appears that there might be a section of roofing on the top of the store. The apartments behind it is missing panels of their metal roof. Fencing and trees are down. The bleachers on one of the fields at Richardson Road park were blown off their concrete pad and now sit in the dugout.

Light pole snapped, but fell into the wind. Therefore, not sure if something hit it causing it to snap and fall that way.

 

Bleachers lifted off concrete pad and placed in dugout.

 

Actually got out of bed and went downstairs. Wind starting sounding like the train sound they speak of. Blew my grill over, and it's a big one. Lost a couple of trees. Have to thank Mother Nature for that. Ash trees that were coming down eventually.

 

If that wasn't a tornado, I don't ever want to live through one. I legitimately thought a train was coming in my back door and we ran to the basement. That was some really scary stuff

 

Same here in Florence on the Train. It woke me up out of a dead sleep and I was definitely concerned.

Wow...you guys got some wind up there. Hope everyone is safe.

We may have had a brief tornado touchdown here in Richmond over on Ducannon Lane. A guy who used to work with me called his sister here at work and told her he saw it. There was some damage to some of the factories over there but I don't think there were any major injuries.

I don't think it got too bad here in southeast Kentucky. I heard some thunder last night and rain, with some wind gusts, but nothing like what is being mentioned and shown in this thread. We had some heavy rain, though.

I've seen some pictures in Boone County, and it looks like they may have been hit the hardest in NKY. Roofs torn off buildings, a house missing it's exterior wall, tractor trailers laying on their sides, etc. One of the worst things about it all is that there were kids sitting on school buses during this storm. They had to be scared to death.

At the corner of US 25 and Duncannon Lane. I was told about 30 ft of the roof at Gil factory was torn off.

Buddy lives in Boone. Said his neighbor's roof was ripped off.
