You should never have to walk half a mile to the Fieldhouse lol, you have 2 schools surrounding MCHS that have parking available along with 68, and the parking lot to the football field behind the high school.

 

As for the Bracken shuttle, it's just a pain in the you know what. Waiting for shuttles to take you to and from your vehicle is very inconvenient, especially after games when everyone is trying to leave at the same time. It's unnecessary to go through all that trouble when you have the perfect venue 20 miles down the road.

Every school in the region, and every school in the district should get their turn at hosting if they can prove they are capable of hosting. Nicholas County hosted girls Region in 2013 and Pendleton County still hosts the 38th District Tournament every 4 years and I don't hear half the people complain as Mason County fans do about the 39th District hosting.

 

I didn't see near as many Montgomery County/GRC people complain when the girls and boys Region were held in Northern Kentucky.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that those games at PC don't draw the crowd that the Mason/Augusta games have drawn in the past few years. Might be wrong, but I doubt it, I went to the Harrison/Pendleton final in 2015 at Robertson and there was a good crowd, not great but good.

When the district is at Bracken I don't know why they haven't gone to a girls final on Wednesday and a boys final Thursday. Or at least Thursday/Friday. It would help with more money and more people could watch.

 

Word. Williamstown hosted games Monday-Saturday last week. Thursday and Saturday were SRO, plus a decent gathering in the cafeteria watched a live feed of the Boys Final. Having county teams in both finals gave the gate a nice boost too.

Plus brooksville has nothing to offer the fans, no restaurant the bathrooms are not set up for the number of people, there is only one concession stand, you have to get to the games very early to guarantee yourself a seat, it's not just the parking or the inconvenience of waiting on the shuttle

Paris vs. Bourbon County back in 1991. The game started at 7:30 and the Fire Marshall had to close the doors at 6:30. This happened at the old Southside Gym, the former home of the Paris Greyhounds. It was the Alvin Sims vs. Corey Williams show. It turned out to be a dunkfest!

 

I remember getting dunked over by Williams in an AAU game, his junk above my head. If I could go back in time I'd be at that Hardees with @jozeywells

I know Mason Co. is royalty and all that, but 'round these parts, we just want the opportunity to watch a fun group of kids play a game that means something, regardless of the outcome. So yeah, some people might have paid to sit and watch a game on a screen.

We have a gas station and a school that's it.

I wouldn't consider Bracken Co necessarily capable....

No one should have to worry about lining up 30 mins to an hour in advance if the doors being opened in below freezing conditions

No one should ever be turned away bc of the amount of people at the games

Parking is a complete joke

And there is nothing in the town of Brooksville restraunt wise.

These are all things people SHOULDNT have to worry about when a venue that none of this is an issue is 20 mins away.

Not to mention that the district even voted to keep it in the fieldhouse for the next few years and it was a 3-1 vote. The only people who want to deal with brooksville are the people from there, and I've heard several residents of the town even say they wished it would just stay in Maysville.

2015 Lincoln County at Boyle County when they brought out the spotlight to introduce the Boyle County starters. I've never seen or heard Rebel Arena as packed as it was for that game.

 

Postseason game:

 

2015 Boyle County at Lincoln County 12th Region Final. That was one of the most intense atmospheres I have ever been a part of.

It's expected in Maysville as it should be with the talent pool in the area, Maysville has always been a rich basketball area whether it was Maysville or Mason County. They are very fortunate for that, where I'm from they haven't won a district championship in 20+ years so I know exactly what you mean. I'm a Mason County fan because I grew up watching the Royals as well as the Black Devils. I've had the opportunity to watch some fantastic players come through both schools and wouldn't trade my experiences and memories for anything.

I've always thought regional semifinal night was the best night of the year. Almost always four great teams and the goal is within reach - "win tonight, we CAN win tomorrow!"
