IF Cal were ever to return to the NBA, he's going to try to assemble the best team possible, regardless of where someone played collegiately. If that means someone from UofL, Duke, Carolina ... it won't matter. He's not that stupid. If he can't win an NCAA tournament with those guys, what makes you think he can win an NBA Championship? Recruiting is not part of the job for an NBA coach and that is by far Calipari's biggest strength. His NBA coaching credentials are not that impressive, so I don't believe that he is leaving anytime soon.
February 21, 20179 yr Hmm... Robinson and Duncan were on opposite ends of their career, but that would be the closest as far as true front court guys. Bird/McHale as well if you consider Bird a low post guy. McHale n Parrish would be the better comparison. Akeem n Sampson. Unseld n Hayes.

His NBA coaching credentials are not that impressive, so I don't believe that he is leaving anytime soon. His NBA coaching resume is why he has openly admitted in the past that he would like a chance at the NBA again one day. Since that is the only time he has truly failed as a coach.

Or a Paul this year?) and surrounding themselves with the 3/D guys and they'd give teams fits. They'd be a matchup nightmare for the Warriors upfront.

I sort of wondered about Paul when they said his contract was up with LAC this year. Didn't realize he had been in the league as long as he has.
