February 13, 20179 yr Wow. I usually am pretty critical of refs letting guys get away with steps, but I will have to defer to more experienced referees. I would say the first step was still in his dribble then he took two to dunk which is ok. Regardless, this guy should do the triple-jump in the Olympics.

I'm usually really critical of refs like these we see in college where you can't watch a game for it being so painful due to NO FLOW.
February 13, 20179 yr I think it's a walk but that violation keeps getting reinterpreted all the time. Like I've posted before, some of the basketball moves being done today cannot be accomplished without carrying the ball or walking, imo.

February 13, 20179 yr I can't slow it down here at work, but from what I saw I don't think it's a walk, and don't think it's really close either. Looks like he doesn't pick his dribble up until his right foot lands just inside the arc, then leaps off his left foot after it lands inside in the free lane. Not sure how it would be considered in high school, but at the NBA it's got to be legal (because they certainly allow for "worse" than this to occur).
February 13, 20179 yr Kind of odd looking right before he picks the ball up...but as Hammer said above, I'm not convinced it's a walk. If the refs had made the walk call, then my question would be did they call the 7-10 others in the game that were probably much more clearly a walk than this one.
February 13, 20179 yr Not sure if it was a walk or not but if I am reffing, I am NOT calling that a walk. I am letting that go and then applauding him.
