Buddhist monk arrested, 4 million meth pills found in monastery - NY Daily News

An anti-drug task force in Yangon, Myanmar, made a startling find when they stopped the car of a Buddhist monk: 400,000 methamphetamine pills.

 

However, the discovery would pale in comparison to the Nirvana awaiting them at his monastery, where they discovered 4.2 million pills, not to mention ammunition and a grenade.

 

"This is not a normal case, and when we were informed that the monk was arrested, we were all shocked," said Kyaw Mya Win, a township police officer.

 

The pills are estimated to be worth over $4 million.

 

While it's unknown exactly what punishment the suspect will face, at the very least he's going to need to disrobe in more ways than one.

 

"It is not a very common case, but not impossible to happen," said Soe Min Tun, the director general of the Religious Affairs Ministry. "What will happen to the monk is that he will have to give up his monkhood right away and face trial as an ordinary person."

 

On the bright side, maybe he'll get reincarnated as someone smarter.

I was about ready to post the same thing, before reading your post. At $1.00 a pill drug cartels would be better of dealing in something else.
