Saw the tweets about him scoring 92, immediately thought he must be an incredible ball hog and was disappointed.

Then saw what actually happened and was even more disappointed. Dude barely even crossed mid-court. Not impressed at all. I'm actually surprised his team mates kept feeding him like that.

ZERO defense played that entire video. :lol2:

I was suspicious when I saw the numbers. They should have said "other team jobs to LaMelo Ball and allows him to score 92 points"

With his high-scoring brother out hurt, Chino Hills sophomore LaMelo Ball shoots for 92 points - LA Times

Not everyone was enamored with Ball’s performance.

Los Osos Coach Dave Smith called it “a joke.” He said Chino Hills players were fouling on purpose trying to prevent Los Osos from running out the clock and thus deny Ball more points.

Now, things are starting to add up.

Transition buckets. I'd like to see a KY team play at that pace for a game.

That was strange and disappointing to watch.

Kid has some skill, but that was just horrible basketball.

The scores was 146-123...

Was neither team playing defense?

What was the joke?

That his team couldn't figure out how to stop this kid?!?!?

The losing team trying to run out the clock, after scoring over 100pts?!?!?

What does he have to be mad about?

A high school basketball player in California scored 92 points Tuesday, saving a large part of his scoring to the last eight minutes, where he scored 41 points, The Los Angeles Times reported.

LaMelo Ball, a sophomore at Chino Hills who is already committed to playing at UCLA, helped his team win 146-123 against Los Osos.

The coach for Los Osos, Dave Smith, called the effort “a joke.”

He said his players were fouled on purpose so they could not run down the clock and deny Ball points, the report said.

“That’s wrong,” Smith told The Times. “It goes against everything CIF stands for. The Ball boys are very talented and great players, but it’s embarrassing to high school athletics. I’ve been coaching for 35 years, and we’re turned high school athletics into individualism.

Ball’s younger brother, LiAngelo, a freshman is also committed to UCLA.

Some seriously bad defense played by all.

This is the greatest thread title ever. :lol2: :lol2:

And yes, I'm not impressed at all. I don't understand the purpose of this at all.

What part I watched the kid never played defense and cherry picked the entire time. PP, I'd be willing to bet you could score 100 by standing near the half court line all night while the other 4 ran down on D and then fed you the ball. What they should have done, both teams take the other 4 out and let this kid play one on one against the other team's best kid. Might have been a better game.
